Convinced I’m having a mmc

I’m 8 weeks today and for a week all my symptoms (which weren’t strong to start with) have all gone. They have disappeared on and off since we got our BFP but this is the longest I’ve felt ‘fine’ for

We have a scan at the EPU tomorrow and I’m convinced this is a mmc and have been an emotional wreck, just don’t know what to do if it’s bad news.

My hubby thinks I’m being silly as we had an early scan 2 weeks ago which showed our baby with a strong heartbeat.

Not sure if I’m looking for advice or a friendly ear, just needed somewhere to get my feelings out 😓

I went through exactly this, nausea stopped, started liking tea again which I couldn't stand for the first few weeks- just generally didn't feel of anymore- was sure it meant mmc. Was lucky to have a fab gp who got me a scan despite the fact the usually only offer for severe cramps/bleeding. Everything was fine. Had a really easy pregnancy and healthy baby.

It is hard isn’t it? I didn’t even feel pregnant until I could feel it move. Worry really is the thief of joy, there is absolutely nothing anyone can do at this point. I know that doesn’t stop us from worrying, but it does show how futile it is.

ChangingStates · 09/05/2018 06:06

didn't feel pg anymore, not of! Also meant to say this was at around 7-8 weeks

StillMissV · 09/05/2018 06:11

I understand your fear - I had a MMC and even though I'm now 27 weeks pregnant I still have the overwhelming fear!

Take each day or even each hour as it comes, you'll get through to the scan. Then give yourself another milestone - my milestones were 12 weeks scan as our baby died at 11 weeks, picked up on 12 week scan; scan at 16 weeks, scan at 20 weeks, viability 24 weeks and now my next milestone is 28 weeks as that's my next consultant appointment. I just keep breaking it down in to manageable chunks.

Good luck tomorrow!!xx

We’ve been ttc for 3 years so this baby is so precious (not saying that all babies aren’t!) just hate this not knowing and thinking in the beginning naively that pregnancy is all text book 😓

Same here! I feel 'fine'and it's so worrying. Was in tears last night and I'm just so scared. X

JimmyPestoJunior · 09/05/2018 07:27

Me too! I'm about 8-9 weeks and have been feeling completely normal over the last week or so. I had sore boobs, nausea, fatigue and other symptoms before that but they all have stopped now.
I am trying to keep busy and stay off google but the worry is always there in the background. I have heard that it's normal for symptoms to come and go so am hoping that they will be back soon.

Athers666 · 09/05/2018 08:02

It's so so hard not to Google isn't it? I do it constantly!

bergamotbitch · 09/05/2018 08:05

Please try not to worry. I had a mmc and still had all my symptoms. My friend had a healthy baby and all of her symptoms disappeared after week 7ish. It really is no indication.

Sending massive hugs.
I am currently 10+4 with my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy ended in a mmc at 10 weeks in Feb 17. This is a much wanted and much tried for baby after a crap journey with infertility.

I've had no major symptoms past 7 weeks BUT a wonderful strong scan at 8 weeks. I feel fine bar the tiredness. It's so easy to think the worse but it really doesn't help you mentally cope. Choosing to worry vs choosing to take each day as it comes is what has gotten me through. I take a deep breath, remind myself I have no reason to worry, and power through the day. That's all you can do until the next reassurance.

The advice I can give you is this, no symptoms is very very common. It means your body is adjusting to pregnancy well and can deflect some of the hormones. That's not to say you won't be sick as a dog in the second trimester. Take each day as it comes. Tackle in 6 hour blocks if that's what it takes. When you start to worry think about your scan and the reasons why you can be happy above everything else. If things don't work out, would you rather remember this time as sadness or happiness. I've chosen happiness. It took a while for me to get here mentally but I have faith you can too.

Xxx

I had no symptoms at all at your stage with DS2. And I never experienced 'sore boobs' or half the other symptoms that everyone talks about with either of my pregnancies. Just horrible nausea later on. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you so much ladies for your responses ❤️. I feel a little more hopeful that it’s just a case of symptoms coming and going around 7-8 weeks.

I have started bloating a bit again tonight and felt hungry all day so fingers crossed baby is just being a little bugger and winding me up!

Hope the scan is all fine tomorrow

JimmyPestoJunior · 10/05/2018 16:26

How did your scan go, Mrs C? Hope it went well.

MrsCrumbtious · 10/05/2018 17:36

Thanks for asking! scan went brilliantly. Saw our little crumb measuring bang on with dates and saw the heartbeat, arm and leg buds. So relieved! Can start to relax a bit more now ☺️.

Thanks again for all your advice and support xxx

That's fantastic news! So glad it went well and that you are feeling happier Smile

MouseLove · 10/05/2018 22:44

Wonderful. So glad to hear it. I had a scan at 8 weeks exactly and it was so weird to see a little baby blob with arms and legs! Hope it calms your nerves. X
