I'm 5w1d pregnant and worried. I take Zopiclone to sleep at night. I'm worried because I've been taking it all this time but done some research and found that it could be damaging in the early stages. If I stop taking it now will my baby be okay? Very worried 😔

Speak to your gp before changing any medication.
If you've been taking it for a while, suddenly stopping may not be good. Your doctor may suggest slowly phasing it out xx

Your gp will get their book out and check :) if you are particularly worried and can’t get a GP appointment you could always go and see a pharmacist for peace of mind. I know at the start of my pregnancy I was on antibiotics I shouldn’t have been (we didn’t realise I was pregnant) but it turns out they would only be an issue in the 2nd and 3rd trimester 😊

Ok I will try to get an appointment in the morning and ask to wean off of this. Surely the worst that could happen if I did just stop is withdrawal symptoms like sweating? I'll ask my gp tomorrow. Thank you

I'll do my best to get an appointment tomorrow otherwise I may have to go into the pharmacy and just ask what they think. I'm really worried and trying to find any sources online that say whether or not it is safe 😔

@anon1204 you could always insist on a telephone appointment with your gp if they can’t fit you in. You need to know, for your own peace of mind. But don’t panic too much. I looked up what I had been on and it just said not advised, when I spoke with the obstetrician she put my mind totally at ease 😊. Let us know how you get on!

Was everything ok in the end?
