This is my second pregnancy & first time around I had high sugars in early pregnancy around 6weeks so from then they monitored it so do not remember having a GTT.

They told me It's a fasting test & all details will be on the appointment letter, but there's no details except appointment time/location/clinic

My question is what is the cut off time to eat? My appointment is at 9:15 tomorrow morning

Can I still drink water?

I've been ringing the clinic all day but there's been no answer xx

I'm having this too and was told to not eat from 10pm the night before and just have sips of water until it's all over. Good luck!

Hi, I had this for both pregnancies and had gestational diabetes for my first pregnancy. As far as I remember it's fasting for 12 hours, but you can have water:-) then they will give you a sugary drink after your first blood test, then 2nd blood test 2 hours later, then they'll give you a sandwich!👍 good luck xx

Don't count on there being food or snacks after, my letter said there would be tea and biscuits available... there wasn't Sad

You need to fast for 12 hours before the time of your test, you can have clear water but no chewing gum or any other food or drink.
