Chemical pregnancy which is a very very early miscarriage. Unfortunately very common esp with early testing.

Jay88 · 08/05/2018 18:05

We called them an they said with no bleed or pains they cant do anything

I would imagine theyll keep an eye& if it doesnt pass on its own theyll maybe scan to check but seems abit half arsed of them to just ignore it!

Do you have an EPU closeby?
( early pregnancy unit)

Yes but they said no bleed or no pain then they cant see us

They need to see you because if she has miscarried without bleeding it is a missed miscarriage and she may need an operation or medication to help the miscarriage process alone. It can be dangerous if left.

NoNoCharlieRascal · 08/05/2018 20:20

Honestly, if they were being so tricky I might be inclined to lie about pain, just to get through the door so to speak, and then explain it away as trapped wind when needed. I understand this is dishonest but I would be desperate to get answers.

Jay88 · 09/05/2018 09:48

I have said shes in some pain and they said untill there is a bleed they can’t do anything... this is a joke i have called my doctor who has arranged a blood test at hospital

Did you test only when the clinic told you? As some drugs given with ivf at transfer or a day or two after contain hcg (what the tests look for) and can give a false positive if tested too early.

Also ectopic can occur with ivf, I had two embryos transferred, they could see one at the early scan but checked tubes etc for the other as they occasionally do find their way there.

Is she still taking any ivf meds? This may stop her getting her period, much like running two packs of the pill together, if the transfer hadn't worked. What have your clinic said? Normally they'd be involved for first couple weeks, try them not GP.

zaalitje · 09/05/2018 10:00

I can't understand why your ivf clinic aren't testing OP, very very unusual!

NoNoCharlieRascal · 09/05/2018 11:20

Glad you're getting some help from your gp @Jay88. Really hope you get some good news.

Jay88 · 09/05/2018 23:36

Hey we dis try them and they said with no pains or bleed they have to wait till 23rd for our scan... still on meds from it as shes been told to continue them ... and done test on the day we was told
And for 5 days after this date and all was positive

@nonocharlierascal thank you for all your support :) ❤️

How far along would she be? Could you pay privately for a scan? If she’s at least 6 weeks that would hopefully give you some sort of answer. I had early scans with my last two pregnancies (privately) and found it really reassuring.

zaalitje · 10/05/2018 08:32

Could have been a false positive from meds or if it's chemical the fact she is still taking meds is stopping the bleed.

NoNoCharlieRascal · 11/05/2018 12:41

How are you both @Jay88
