Hi I’m expecting Dec 19th. Everyone I speak to about hospital stays seems to have had reasons to stay in for a few days. But I remember my sister in law being out with in a few hours just wondering what everyone’s stay lengths are and for what reasons. I don’t want to be in hospital for days obviously if I have to I will but if I’m in over Christmas: be just my luck. Considering Home birth as it is as will feel very anxious and unsettled in hospital.

Was due Dec 19th, baby arrived Dec 9th and went home Dec 10th. I was in a couple of days before of induction but Home just a day after DS arrived

I had a Christmas baby, I was only in one night. That was because I had a c-section.
The christmas bargains thread on here helped me get all the shopping done well in advance.

I was in hospital over Christmas. It wasn't ideal but we just had our own alternative Christmas day when I got home

If you have a straight forward pregnancy and delivery you can go home within7 hours of birth. I had to stay in overnight due to medication I was on and I was very dehydrated so had a fast heart rate and struggling to pee.

I absolutely did not want to stay in at all and hated every second but it was what had to happen. I would try not to get too worried about it because it will always be what's best for you and baby. Also if you're planning on breast feeding, that first night is so difficult and it's nice to know there are experts there to help if you're struggling.

My dd was born Christmas Eve at 10.50pm and I wasn't discharged until tea time on Christmas Day. I was shocked at how nice the hospitals Christmas dinner was 😂

My baby was born 5 Jan at 0100 after a 2 hour labour. I left about 2pm the same day. They won’t keep you in if there’s no need.

First baby arrived 5 weeks early and was in for 6 nights. I stayed with her. Second was due 17th December, arrived at 4am on 21st December and I was home for lunch.

We were in hospital for 5 days because I had a few complications in labour and then DS had jaundice. They kept promising they would do their best to get us out before Christmas and they did but it was very close!

It was nice to be out for Christmas but we were so exhausted with a tiny baby that actually we couldn't have cared less where we were on the day as long as we had our new little family together.
