I'm 16 weeks and don't feel pregnant!

I'm supposedly 16 weeks (yesterday) I don't feel any different. I was lucky in that I got no physical sickness, just nausea in the first trimester. And I was very tired.
Now fast forward to 16 weeks and I don't really have a bump, I have a bit of a tummy anyway as I'm overweight. I can't feel my uterus (supposed to be half way between pelvic bone and belly button now) haven't felt movement, no physical signs of pregnancy AT ALL! I'm getting really paranoid about my 20 week scan in a month's time.

My 12 week scan was fine, everything looked good, heart beat strong and everything forming well.

I felt the same at the time. Don't worry, you will feel VERY pregnant before too long! 16 weeks would be early to feel movement IIRC.

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 06/05/2018 09:40

Cathy you won't feel moment for a few more weeks but some people do not for a long time so I wouldn't worry about that. Have you been healthy? Any symptoms that aren't right?

MouseLove · 06/05/2018 09:41

Don't worry. This is normal from what I've read. It's a little bit in limbo land. Do you have your 16 weeks midwife appointment to look forward to this week? They will let you listen to babies heart! I wouldn't worry about movement yet. If it's your first baby you might not feel anything until after 20 weeks. Xxx

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 06/05/2018 09:41

Some people do not show for a long time

Okaynowimconfused · 06/05/2018 09:42

How you feel is totally normal. I felt the same with my two previous pregnancies too.

I'm now nearly 4 months pregnant with my third and I'm still waiting for movement. I think I've felt a couple of movements but it has happened so rarely that I wonder if I imagined it.

I find scans terrifying anyway until I know everything is ok.

So just relax. When is your next midwife appointment? They should check the heartbeat so that can give you some reassurance.

blinkowl · 06/05/2018 09:42

When's your next MW appointment? I always felt it was very reassuring to hear the heartbeat. I was high risk though so went in a lot, no idea what's normal!

I am also 16 weeks and feel exactly the same! I did have symptoms in the first trimester which have eased now (thank god) but it does leave me questioning even being pregnant because I feel so normal. I have a bump but think it’s mostly fat and bloat.

CathyandHeathcliff · 06/05/2018 09:42

@ladybirdsarelovely33 I think so. I've had some period type pains but no bleeding. Had a tiny bit of pink spotting two weeks ago, spoke to midwife. She said it's normal. Only to worry if red or clots.

Cross posts!

At.16 weeks - very early for it - any movement will usually be felt as the very faintest little flutter anyway.
Please don't worry!

CathyandHeathcliff · 06/05/2018 09:44

I'm going for my midwife appointment when I'm 17+4. I'm not sure she'll listen because of my weight.

It is my first.

I just wish I had a bump!

They do listen to the heartbeat at the 16 week midwife appointment so I’m sure you will hear that soon and be reassured.

Mousefunky · 06/05/2018 18:00

Also worth noting that it can take a while to show and feel movements with your first and if you are overweight to begin with, it may take longer.

didsomeonesaybunny · 06/05/2018 18:03

I was the same. Im almost 20w now and I still don’t have much of a bump and don’t feel very pregnant at all. I’m still able to go all the things I used to do, running, cycling, yoga etc.
