Tummy pains on and off since Thursday. Is this a sign of early labour?

Hi ladies ,

I'm 39 weeks on Monday and feeling so fed up. Really want this baby to make an appearance. Can't really remember how I felt last time with first pregnancy but this time round the whole pregnancy has been totally different.
Started getting tummy pain a few weeks ago with me wanting to go the toilet a lot (no diahorrea) sorry tmi! Blush
Then from about Thursday this week it's more intense feeling it just comes on me and start feeling like I could be either end. Often just the toilet but no diahorrea just normal or wind. I know that my friend had said you can have a 'clear' out before baby arrives. But unsure if this is what it is? Confused

Midwife said this week that baby is 3/5 but that means nothing. I'm suppose to be having a sweep on Thursday so will see if that does anything.
Can anyone help, or even advise what this could be..
Thank you in advance! Smile

Does it feel like your tummy is going solid where the feeling spreads gradually and it doesn't pass for a what feels like an eternity. for about 3 weeks before i had mine I had severe braxton hicks and it was like contractions but (now I know) not nearly as bad.

You can have a clear out but I must admit I never expierenced that

Oh I remember those horrible feelings. No doubt your body is getting ready for labour, but it could be weeks still until anything really happens. Flowers

I've been experiencing Braxton Hicks for weeks now. It's more of tummy pains but it's not nice as feel like I want to go the toilet or be sick it's strange.

Oh I hope I don't go over! I was nearly a week over with my first! Sad

OP I think you must be me! I'm 38+4 and have been having this for 2 whole weeks 😭

It absolutely takes my breath away sometimes with the pain, might last a couple of hours then completely goes.

DC1 was 11 days overdue 😭😭😭 hoping this one turns up a bit earlier.

It's awful isn't @MyNameIsTotoro just waiting for something, anything to happen. I only finished work last Friday but feel like I've been off work for weeks waiting for this baby! Sad Deffo need her to hurry up I have a very excited 4 year old desperate to meet her too! Grin

I've been the same the last 2 weeks, gradually getting worse. BH are very intense and I keep thinking "this is it", but apparently it's not!
Due in 5 days and I am so knackered! Ds1 was born at 36 weeks so these 4 weeks have taken their toll on me!
