Just wanted to see if anyone else was feeling this way at this stage. I have such bad headaches, overally emotional and crying at little things nausea is back with a vengance and feeling so run down and just generally rubbish :( also feeling like i should be a lot more prepared for 1st baby to arrive then i am... have the strongest desire to get everything straight but zero motivation to do it all and generally feeling very alone right now :( any advise to get out of this rut?

Hi, I'm sorry you're down. I'd speak to your mw when you can esp re headaches. Might be worth getting an iron test etc.

But I must say I've had zero motivation since around 34 weeks. Even less now I'm 39. Second time for me too. Lots of things feel overwhelming, just basic tidying (though we are sorting out buckets of stuff).

Bad headaches can be a sign of preeclampsia. Please please call the maternity unit straight away and explain about the Headaches. You may need to go in to be checked up on.

Ratbagratty · 05/05/2018 16:47

Maternity unit please contact them, the nausea is also a sign of pre eclampsia.

I have mentioned the headaches before and they have brushed it off and i should of probably explained i have suffered with HG my entire pregnancy still on 2 x 4mg of ondansetron for the sickness but the nausea feeling seems to have really taken hold again. I will ring midwife now see what she thinks. Thanks all

Please do call - better to go in for a check up and nothing is wrong.

leghoul · 05/05/2018 17:48

Having HG doesn't mean you won't get something else (sorry!) particular worry would be pre-eclampsia. Please go to see someone.

pastabest · 05/05/2018 17:51

You need to be checked over I think.

Regarding not having everything ready, providing you have somewhere for the baby to sleep, a car seat if you are driving back from the hospital, nappies and something for it to wear when it arrives (and eat if you are bottle feeding) everything else is extra and can be bought/ sorted when it arrives.

NerrSnerr · 05/05/2018 17:55

My friend's hg got worse at the end of her pregnancy and it was preeclampsia. I'd get checked out just in case.

Downeyhouse · 05/05/2018 22:37

How are you doing op?

Cmad116 · 09/05/2018 22:10

I rang my midwife she told me to take paracetamol have something to eat then if i still didnt feel well after a hour to go up the hospital but i felt better. Today however i think my plug is starting to come away i has weird yellowish greenish discharge rang midwife she said sounds like plug as no smell or pain etc and to just rest had pains in my pelvis / virgina on and off all evening at one point was literally taking my breath away now like a dull ache is this early labour i dont know if i should ring hospital.. i rang my mum and she said keep an eye on pain but she thinks start of early labour i just dont know and feel like my midwife isnt giving me much support of what to do... but don't want to go hospital if its nothing :(

I'd ring the labour ward

OnTopOfSpaghetti · 09/05/2018 22:19

Please ring them, better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

Cmad116 · 09/05/2018 22:21

So i should call even though the pain is just a dull ache now? I really hate going hospital so dont want to do countless trips if i can avoid

IWantMyHatBack · 09/05/2018 22:25

I think it's worth getting another opinion, yes. You might not need to go down, but your midwife seems very blasé and speaking to another midwife would be a good idea, I think.

Cmad116 · 12/05/2018 17:05

Thanks i did end up at the hospital pretty much all day yesterday in labour triage although the pains did stop on the 9th my headaches returned on 10th and 11th and paracetamol wouldnt shift it. Had usual test done there was leukocytes in my urine my blood pressure was fine but they took blood and checked for infection or any sign of pre eclampsia all clear thankfully but still feeling rough the tablet they said they could prescribe for the headache has a common side effect of making headaches worse so i passed. Just feeling pretty rubbish and very down about it all now :(
