Big bump for 14 weeks?

What do we think? I feel huge but it seemed to just grow rapidly from 12 weeks onwards. My colleague is 16 weeks and no bump to be seen! Am I a normal size for this point in pregnancy?

I had a visible bump at 14 weeks - a lot of it was bloat but it just got progressively bigger anyway!

It’s bigger than some I’ve seen but we all carry very differently. It’s a lovely bump.

Thanks fruity! My colleagues have made a number of comments about me being huge for 14 weeks, I'm really self conscious and wondering whether it's all normal!

I will be 14 weeks on Monday and I am also very bumpy! I have been like it since 11 weeks with colleagues asking if I’m having twins / expressing how big I am 🙄
I just think everyone is different

LottieBeatrice · 05/05/2018 08:26

@AJ89 not just me then! I was this size at about 9 weeks but it was definitely mostly bloat. It then disappeared back to flat then seemed to grow every day from 12 weeks to now. Don't get me wrong I love my bump and know I'm only going to get bigger, I just feel huge compared to other people!

My friend has been huge since 6 weeks. We were shocked that she's not having twins. Some people just show from very early.

LottieBeatrice · 05/05/2018 08:30

fair I must've been doing my crunches wrong all those years!

A bump like that at 6 weeks would definitely be bloating.
At 6 weeks baby is the size of a lentil, and tucked behind the public bone. At that size 1 or 10 of them wouldn't make a difference.
I was bloated in my first trimester, expected to have to tell people early but it deflated and I didn't get a true bump visible to others till around 28 weeks.

LottieBeatrice · 05/05/2018 08:44

@zaalitje not sure if you're referring to me or pp but I'm 14 weeks. But yes at 6 weeks baby is teeny! I didn't show at all with bloat until 9 weeks and it disappeared at about 11. Bump then got bigger every day from 12 weeks! All very exciting.

Mine looked like that and I got lots of comments from colleagues. I thought maybe it was bloating and would disappear, but I'm 19 weeks now and it just gets bigger!

LottieBeatrice · 05/05/2018 08:51

@RowenaDedalus it's probably partial bloating but feeling a lot more bumpy than it did when I was bloated at 9 weeks. It's quite achey and painful. Can't even imagine what it feels like to be full term!

I started feeling uncomfortable in my clothes from 10 weeks and definitely showing from about 12. I am now 17 weeks and have a definite bump. I have a short upper body so there is no where really for baby to go but out! Pic is me yesterday

This thread is really making me feel better. I'm 18 weeks with a big bump and was feeling a bit self conscious about it. Mainly because everyone keeps telling me how big I am.

A girl at work is due 12 weeks BEFORE me and her bump is smaller than mine. She looks like she just had a big lunch 😂😂 so it's nice to see other bumps like mine

RowenaDedalus · 05/05/2018 12:44

I feel the same. One of my friends is 28 weeks and she doesn't even look pregnant. Not at all!

LottieBeatrice · 05/05/2018 12:46

@Peanut91 you look gorgeous! Thanks for sharing Smile

Thanks everyone! Feeling slightly better. I can't wait to have a big bump just didn't think I'd have one this soon!

lottie sorry, yes was referring to the PP who expressed surprise at a 6 week bump not being twins.
My bad, should have been clearer.

Alanares89 · 05/05/2018 14:07

That’s a lovely bump! I bloated a lot when I was about 9 weeks and I thought I had a bump then it literally disappeared lol but both ladies bumps are lovely!

BlueBug45 · 05/05/2018 17:06

I had a flat stomach plus I have a short body so from 6 weeks stomach was thicker and by 14 weeks I had a visible bump.

And if eat something or get bloated it grows a lot.

I didn't really have visible bump growth from 17-20 weeks instead my breasts painfully grew another size.Confused
