UTI, thrush or something else?

I’ve been a bit sore in my vagina over the past couple of days, and at my midwife appointment they said my urine sample showed raised levels of leukocytes that showed I might have an infection.

The pain is pretty low level and a dull throbbing on a off but I am now worried that it is Friday, a bank holiday and I won’t be able to see anyone until Tuesday unless I go to the out of hours (which I may have to..)

What would you do? I’ve been applying Canesten cream as I thought it could be thrush but the pain is making me think it’s something else... Would it be likely to get worse over 3 days if I don’t treat it? And will it affect my baby? I’m 33w1d.

Definitely go to GP over weekend (maybe look up if you have one that is appointment based to stop you having to wait all day!).

I had a UTI in early pregnancy (really common) but it is possible that it can track up to the kidneys if untreated (worst case) so I would go personally :-)

Hopefully just a precaution but better to be safe!!

I've just been prescribed a course of antibiotics for a UTI I had no idea I had. Totally symptomless but picked up through urine tests which showed raised levels of leukocytes. Definitely worth going to see your GP. I was nervous about taking antibiotics but they were careful to make sure what they prescribed was safe in pregnancy.

I was the same @WelshMammy123 completely baffled me when doctor phoned and said I had an infection she was so rude aswell I asked what type and all I got was 'why are you asking that' pretty much because I've no symptoms what so ever! The antibiotics made me feel so sick aswell I'd been having spotting during that time it stopped when I finished my course so must have been the infection
