It seems like there's so many do's and don'ts when it comes to being pregnant! Any recommendations would be most appreciated. : )

I have skin that doesn't burn and tans easily so normally on holiday I use nothing higher than a 15/20 but when pregnant I used the Nivea pure and sensitive (comes in a white bottle rather than blue) in a factor 30 and reapplied more often than normal as pregnancy makes your skin burn easier. The Nivea one is unperfumed (so good if scents aren't agreeing with you) and is pregnancy safe

Erm, none. Tanning us not safe. Before you ask - yes, melanoma is on the rise in the UK (my SIL had a melanoma removed age 25 - she lives in York).

Unless you mean sunscreen?

Thank you Lifeaback. I'll look into that one.

I mean sunscreen GoldenMcOldie. I'm going on holiday and want to make sure I'm wearing sun protection all the time. I'm not planning on sunbathing.

Usually when in the UK I wear spf all the time but since being pregnant I've been very paranoid about what I can and cannot use.

I just use the normal stuff I used before getting pregnant (mostly the kids soltan at the moment as I'm spraying that on the kids as well) - I've never seen any advice stating that some brands are not suitable for pregnant women.

FutureFairyCrayon · 04/05/2018 13:02

Seriously, you can use any sunscreen, it'll be fine. I switched to 50spf on my face and wore a wide brimmed hat as I already had some hyper pigmentation/melasma, and it can get worse in pregnancy, but other than that, just normal Soltan/Nivea/Ambre Solaire, whichever was on special offer really.

Currently on holiday in eygpt and I have been using Soltan. I started with factor 50 but now using 30. Been here 2 weeks

Thanks for all your replies. I've bought some Nivea Sun Protect & Sensitive 50 and another bottle of 30. Apparently oxybenzone is the ingredient to avoid when pregnant. These don't have that.
