What were your earliest labour signs??

With DS1 my waters broke suddenly 36+2 weeks and I had him 24 hours later.

I'm 39 weeks today and for the last 2 days I've been having period like pains in my lower back which sometimes go round to my front. The bh have ramped up, sometimes painful enough to actually consider them being contractions.
Today I've woken up with sore bh, period pains in back again and I'm feeling extremely nauseous.. Could this be it?

How did your labour start?

Following as I felt extreme pressure and strong by last night but I think it was mostly wind due to a curry as has been revealed to me this morning

Waters never broke with ds but I was up pacing lots the night before feeling like I had to do a poo - I was constipated and thought it was that but when I went in for my induction I was apparently in labour; just didn't realise. The pressure and feeling like I needed to bare down was noticeable. I don't remember any pain tbh.

I wondered if it was a bit of something last night as the feeling was similar and I feel like I want to sit on a toilet a lot or go on all fours.

Sounds very promising @MrsG95 ! My waters trickled with my first, but second time it was just BHs that became more regular until they became more like aches and then i realised I was having to seriously breathe through them and I realised OH! I’m probably in labour now. Really snuck up on me

Funny that ekphrasis, as I've been feeling like I could poo but I don't actually need to.. I have been eating pineapple the last 3 days, which people say can bring on contractions (not sure how much of it is actually true tho!)

Frantic oh I do hope so. I have had horrible bh from 26 weeks this pregnancy, was actually up hospital then in suspected labour because mine have always been very sore!
Every twinge I'm getting anxious, trying to figure out if it's "real" or not!

I’d relax. Easier said than done but any stress hormone will slow you down apparently. Maybe read a book, or go for a nap? A therapeutic clean of the kitchen? (Not totally relaxing but helps being on your feet if your mind is elsewhere)

Good luck Flowers

With two of my kids it was my waters breaking. For the other one, it was my body shaking uncontrollably. That was a very fast labour and my body appeared to be going into shock!

DS1 is in nursery till 2 so I'm gonna tidy and put my feet up. So ready for this baby!

Sounds like it MrsG, could still rattle in for a while or go 0-60 in an hour! Yes, rest while you can.

Period pains were first sign in all 3 labours! Good luck!

First child - waters broke at 39+6

Second child - went for a sweep and they told me I was 4cm so ended up staying born at 41+4. No idea that I was in labour!

Third child (2 weeks ago!) - had a sweep at 40+3 and 40+5, due to be induced at 41+3.
I was woken up by period pains that had no pattern from 2am. I kept falling asleep again.
By 5am I knew it was happening as they were 6-7 minutes apart. Made sure everything was sorted, shower etc.

DH and kids got up at 7 and I told DH, but kids had no idea! We left for hospital at 9:05 after MIL took the kids to school. Pains were 3-4 minutes apart then. My waters broke on their own at 12:05 and he arrived 12:32! (The day I was supposed to be induced)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I'm 34 weeks pregnant today and I've been getting a dull achey pain on and above my pubic bone all day and it's suddenly got a lot worse I can barely walk and it goes up inside (sorry for too much info!!) anyone else had this? Is it normal?!? Xx

Ekphrasis · 04/05/2018 21:16

That sounds like spd?

MrsG95 · 05/05/2018 09:03

That does sound like spd nancy. I cannot wait for baby to be here so it disappears. It's one thing I definitely won't miss 😂

I've had spd from early pregnancy and it's a lot of a different pain. I'm seeing the midwife Tuesday so just have to struggle on through till then xx

MrsG95 · 06/05/2018 17:15

Maybe baby is on a nerve?
I've never spoken to mw about it, but a few people mentioned spd.. I have this almost constant achy/bruised feeling on my pubic bone. Feels like I've been repeatedly kicked in the foof 😭😂 pain changes to sharp, stabbing pains when I'm up walking/standing for too long
