Had a 24 hour stomach bug yesterday and I'm 14 weeks. Kept hydrated, no fever and I feel fine today but I'm still worried, has anyone else had similar and everything was ok? Got a scan next week but it feels like a lifetime to wait. Thanks!

I got food poisoning at about 16weeks. I felt wretched for days, but it was fine.

I've had it this pregnancy. No adverse effects to baby, but interestingly, will now be tested for h.pylori infection as triage doctor yesterday thought I might have developed a stomach ulcer after two lots of D and V in 16 months. Just something to ask about if you end up with unexplained upper abdominal pain and reflux later on.

I had it two days after my bfp and was really poorly in hospital. I’m 10.5 weeks now and my last scan said baby was fine.

Unfortunately you will feel awful but baby will be fine and still take everything from you that they need. You are doing all the right things just increase fluids as and when you feel well enough to and then slowly reintroduce food, again when you feel well enough. Just eat what you fancy to begin with.
Hope you feel better soon. Thanks

I did, I've never felt so ill! DS was absolutely fine though. I rang my midwife to see if I needed to do anything and she said to keep hydrated and you've done that Smile

Not food poisoning, but also at 14 weeks I had a gastro bug and threw up in excess of 30 times in 7 hours. I ended up being admitted for rehydration fluids as I couldn't keep any water down at all even 20 hours after it started. I was so so worried about the impact on my baby but she was absolutely fine (she's just about to turn 1).

Thanks everyone! Feel better for hearing that

I had it, also at 14 weeks (while I was abroad for the weekend!!), had the most severe symptoms and cramps. 18+3 now and baby was fine at the last scan. Just keep drinking fluids was what I was advised.

Had either a gastro bug or food poisoning about 27ish weeks. God it was so shit. Constantly wretching throwing up, and when i had run out of throwing up i would just heave. Whole body hurt and I was shaking constantly .... thankfully they only last for a day or two. Baby is fine, as will yours be!
