How long to conceive

Just out of interest....

How long did it take you to conceive your first child after coming off the pill?

I have been on the contraceptive Yasmin for 11 years. I have had the occasional pill break since then and I do seem to get regular periods- although I've never tracked.

My boyfriend and I have decided I'll come off the pill in August to start trying, but I'm interested to know, how long on average it may take us!

I was on the pill for c.20 years. Came off in late November, had a 66 day cycle, one normal cycle with a tiny two day period and conceived on the third cycle in March (so second proper cycle). I ran my pill packs together (literally no period for 7+ years) because of endometriosis pain and was 36 so didn't expect it to be so quick (given the endometriosis too!)

I think these responses just demonstrate how random it is.

Group of 5 friends, all same age, similar social lives etc, all had been on pill for 10+ years. 3 conceived the 1st month, I took 9 months, 1 friend took best part of 3 years.

And also its random for 2nd and subsequent pregnanies too - conceiving quickly / taking ages 1st time around doesn't mean that's how it'll go 2nd time. For me, second time around 2yrs later, took me almost 2 years to conceive.

@namechangedtoday15 you're absolutely right, it seems so random! I'd love a crystal ball! I'm such an inpatient person and rubbish with not knowing what to expect! X

20ish months including successful IVF treatment (didn't know we needed it for first 12 months trying.

Unexpected, wasn't trying. Was BF.

Into cycle number 14 and doing it next month.

First pregnancy, was unplanned and I got pregnant on the pill (Yasmin to be precise!).

Second pregnancy, got pregnant second month of trying.

First pregnancy, first month of missing the pill.

Second pregnancy - been trying 3 years this month.

I came off my pill in November 2017 and conceived in the February.

First pregnancy -
Ds1- cycle 1
Second pregnancy-
Currently 16 weeks pregnant -conceived after 8 months of trying
