Extreme upper abdominal pain

Hi all. I'm currently 30 and 5 and suffering from really bad upper abdominal pain. It started pretty much at about 14 weeks as rib pain. It then went away for a while. Roughly about 2 months ago the rib pain came back. Just the lower two ribs on my right hand side. I mentioned it to the midwife who just said take paracetamol. Since then it has spread to the abdominal muscles, my skin is sore to touch yet feels numb and the rib pain radiates both front and back and both sides. I'm naturally very petit. Was only 6 stone when I conceived and have long legs and a short body. I have to have additional scans due to my weight the last of which said baby measuring bigger than average. Is it just that my body is not really big enough to accommodate the baby and its the baby putting pressure on all my insides or does it sound like something a lot worse. I'm struggling to cope with the pain and can't face the thought of 9+ more weeks of this

Call the midwife, extreme abdominal pain especially where you describe can be a symptom of pre eclampsia

I agree, call your midwife. I don't know what could be causing it, but definitely get it checked out.

Definitely get it chrcked out op. Obviously, I can’t say what it is but how are your bowel movements? I had a similar and extreme pain under my right ribs. Literally crying with it , doubled over. It was an impacted stool because the baby was taking up so much space my bowels weren’t functional.
