I'm in my first trimester. The headaches are debilitating and paracetamol doesn't even touch it. Also incredibly constipated which is making me feel so irritable. What helps?

Stupid question but are you drinking enough? Could cause both issues.

The headaches are rubbish but they do go eventually; make sure you are drinking loads. I found a small amount of caffeine helped with the headaches and I took dissolvable paracetamol in some full fat coke which was more effective and than normal paracetamol. I also found the 4head rub helpful and an ice pack thing that I bought off of amazon and placed on my head or the back of my neck. Other than that just resting really.
I didn't have the constipation so can't really help but I believe the pharmacist can advise on some products that can be used in pregnancy and help.
Hope you feel better soon Thanks

Yeah I've been drinking tons of water. I fill the big Evian bottles up. So fed up up of feeling like this :(
I'm sat wearing sunglasses indoors because of the constant headache. I got migraines pre pregnancy and they aren't quite as bad but they are getting there.

Keeping well hydrated can help both. I had horrendous headaches with both pregnancies and had to take a short course of amytriptalin. Can’t remember how to spell it Blush. Speak to your gp or midwife, they will check your blood pressure.
Also suffered horrendous constipation, I tried prunes, grapes etc but had to be prescribed lactulose.

Thank you bluebird sky I'll try that coke x

I also had bad migraines pre pregnancy and continued to get some early in the first trimester; not being able to take anything was rubbish!
Seriously try the caffeine thing and see if it helps. Although with coke I am not sure if its the caffeine or sugar that helps or both.

Head massage can be good for pregnancy headache.
For the constipation, stimulate the gut with prunes, olive oil, sweet corn, oranges (whatever works for you) and glycerin suppositories if you feel banged at the exit.

I've suffered from really awful headaches through my pregnancy so far so I totally feel your pain. Two things have helped - the paracetamol extra with a bit of caffeine in them work, normal paracetamol didn't touch mine. I only take 2 and have no other caffeine so I don't go over the 200mg a day. Second thing has been accupuncture - I was super sceptical but 2 weeks in and I've gone from daily headaches for 2 months to 4 days headache free this week.

I found full fat coke helped the headaches. Also if they’re very severe, which if they’re anything like a migraine, then they are, the doctor could prescribe cocodamol. However be warned cocodamol can cause constipation too! Weetabix for breakfast should help that if you can manage it. I also drank weetabix milkshakes when I couldn’t manage the cereal.
