I have just had my 2nd scan and was very pleased to see a 6+3 little bean with a nice strong heartbeat.

Pregnancy appears to be progressing well and all right sizes (embryo) Bean - 6.1mm & gestational sac 20mm.

Only thing is that there is a small area of bleeding around the gestation sac measuring 11mm x 8mm x 18mm. If I experienceany fresh pv loss I should have another scan. I also have an ovarian cyst measuring 2.3 cm.

Any expereience either of the above? Thanks

I had a scan at 6 week, which showed an area of bleeding beside the sac, which was possibly an implantion bleed. I also had a cyst on my left ovary, which has now collasped (this was checked last week) I am now 15 weeks and everything is going well

  • mine os on left ovary too. I did have a scan 2 weeks ago but would it have shown an implantation bleed then?

not sure, but I know I have had no external bleeding, but they did tell me that I might

SparklyGothKat · 15/05/2007 14:50

my cyst was 3cms big.

I have had no external bleeding either. Said I might lose some brown stuff but if I lose red have to go in for another scan. MW said that the blood may be re-absorbed.

I had the same in my pregnancy with dd1. The cyst disapeared and the area of bleeding didn't cause any problems.

saralou100 · 15/05/2007 15:51

Just for further reassurance, I too had a cyst with DS2 which ruptured and as a reult I had brown discharge (old blood) throughout the first trimester. It all ended well I have a beautiful baby boy who's now 1.
