Confused about due date - got two 21 days apart!

Hello all!

So my scan due date is May 21st putting me at 37 weeks. (scan was at 9 weeks)

However... My first due date based on my last period was April 30th.. So two days ago!

I know for certain that baby was conceived around 4th/5th August as my partner and I were going through a dry patch and only did the deed that one time during July/August whilst we were at a festival!!

If I calculate when the baby was conceived based on my May 21st due date it's showing that the baby would have had to have been conceived from 23rd - 28th August which impossible!!!

If the baby was due on April 30th that puts the date we conceived somewhere between 2nd - 7th August which makes perfect sense!!

Can anyone shed a light on this? It's had us confused from day one 😭

Oh and when I asked my midwife at my second scan at '12 weeks' to look again at my date she was very blasé and said "your due a few days before maybe but we'll leave it as it is"

I have a similar thing- although only 2 weeks difference. No help here as midwife has just said it’ll come when it’s ready and to not get too hung up on dates. Shockingly baby is now measuring big... I’m consultant lead though so figure he will make the decision to induce if needed!

A dating scan (12 week scan) is most accurate between 11+2 and 13ish weeks so it looks like you had an earlier scan which would cause a slight inaccuracy.

What was the date given from your LMP?

Unfortunately most professionals won't deter from the dating scan EDD unless there is concern with the growth or health of the baby/mum.

I reckon you conceived with a slow swimmer, reckon it's a girl...

So my LMP due date was April 30th..

I guess I'm just worried that if I go past my due date I could be potentially very over due! However the baby has been pressing on my cervix (fanny daggers) for the last 4 weeks and I've had loose bowels the last week. So I'm hoping I'm getting close now!

My friend said her baby was conceived for sure after mine and her due date was May 15th so we were both really confused.

And she's had her baby now already!
