UTI in late pregnancy

I'm 38 weeks and apparently have another UTU. This one can only be treated with penicillin (which I'm allergic to), or a drug that is contraindicated in late pregnancy due to risks to the baby.

Great.

I'll discuss with GP in the morning but in the meantime I'm interested to hear what a UTI feels like in late pregnancy, if anyone would mind sharing?

I never usually have them. I had one once during first trimester of previous pregnancy and felt like my wee was on fire and had a very painful lower back.

Now I feel totally fine. Well, I've had severe nausea due to HG, so that could potentially hide that symptom. I've been getting period pain like cramps and contractions on and off for a week, but I don't think they could be confused with a UTI??
