Blood pressure 128/80

Hi ladies, so my previous pregnancy I was diagnosed with pre eclampsia at 36.5 weeks, due to high blood pressure that day and protein in urine. Was induced 5 days later as they couldn’t control blood pressure with medication.

Today I’m 34 weeks and had routine midwife appointment and she said my blood pressure was 128/80. So I’ve looked at it and it’s not far off stage 1 hypotension again [emoji17] urine was fine.

I’m seeing a consultant on the 17th May at 36 and half weeks (compulsory due to severe pre eclampsia in my notes) do you think this is going to be a repeat of my previous pregnancy? Or has anyone had that sort of blood pressures and it stayed the same roughly?!

That is within the normal range so I'd not worry.

It depends what your blood pressure normally is generally if it's 20 higher (either top or bottom number but bottom is more significant) than you usual blood pressure it's considered high.
However without any protein in the urine and other symptoms of pre-eclampsia it is more likely to be pregnancy induced hypertension rather than pre-eclampsia.
A blood pressure of 120/80 would be perfectly normal for some people though and nothing to worry about.

That blood pressure is healthy. Hope all goes well.

I have had my BP closely monitored during this pregnancy and the midwife I see at the BP clinic would be happy with that reading.

128/80 is a perfectly normal blood pressure reading.

That's a normal blood pressure reading so try not to worry or Google. I also had pre eclampsia in my first pregnancy- induced at 34 weeks. I get weekly monitoring and have had the bottom number at 80 on a few readings. You're still well away from the level that they start monitoring (usually 140/90) and even further away from anything dangerous. I've been seeing a consultant since 20 weeks and they said if you develop pre eclampsia in a second pregnancy it tends to be later and milder so the fact that you got it and delivered so late is encouraging 😊
