Got induced yesterday at 2:30pm and had the first pessary which had to stay in for 24 hours. It did absolutely nothing! I didn’t dilate more than 1cm 😭! On the second round of

I started induction at 6pm on the Monday and didn't progress. Waters broken manually at 2am Wednesday and baby born by emergency section Wednesday 6.30pm. You will get there one way or another! Good luck!

Muffin7 · 30/04/2018 18:05

They tried every which way with me, my body just wasn't ready so after 60hrs and only getting to 1cm I cried and asked for a c.section, Which they gave me. Stay positive, do lots of walking and one way or the other you will soon meet your baby xx

For DS2 I had a 24 hour pessary and 2 gels to get me to the point where they could break my waters. I had the first pessary 11pm on a Monday, he was born 7:44pm on Thursday!

NanFlanders · 01/05/2018 00:29

I had four failed inductions before they went for a C section. It was honestly fine. No pain at all, dh there and the surgeon held the baby up so we saw it's sex before anyone else. No probs with breast feeding after either. Good luck! Xx

Similar to above. C-section as didn't progress. Section was heaven in comparison to the induction!
Hopefully the second one gets things moving for you though.
Good luck.

I've had a recent failed induction too. Started on Friday afternoon as I was 40+12, pessaries didn't work so they manually broke my waters then put me on the drip to start contractions late Sunday afternoon. After 12 hours of labour I had an epidural as I couldn't take the pain any more. I continued on the drip and delivered late Monday afternoon by emergency c-section.

Not sure why my body didn't respond to the induction but it was a very long and tiring weekend.

Had all the drugs now and still nothing!!! How frustrating. Not even a slight ache or pain! Hopefully they make a decision today about what to do because I just want him out now, we are so close!! When they spoke to me about c sections last week they told me you are four times more likely to die in a c section which really worried me but I thought they were so normal now that it would be perfectly safe?

They are safe. They are routine. I would assume planned ones are safer. Obviously there are risks, but they are small. Ask midwives for some info on them whilst you're hanging around.

GlitteryFluff · 01/05/2018 07:12

Why are you being induced? Have you gone over due?

Lunde · 01/05/2018 07:14

I was induced on a Wednesday at 8am, had a second round of pessaries on Thursday at 8am, put on a drip on Friday at 12 noon and baby arrived at 7.30 pm on Friday.

sandgrown · 01/05/2018 07:19

I had five failed attempts at induction before a planned c section as my blood pressure was high. The CS was fine but obviously not able to drive etc. DP had taken first week off work in anticipation of baby arriving but had to go back just after DS born ! Good luck hope you are in labour soon.

Joinourclub · 01/05/2018 07:24

Have they put you on the drip? I had no luck with the pessary, and they had real trouble breaking my waters (it took 2 midwives and a doctor), but once the drip started, I was off.

mum2bemay22 · 01/05/2018 07:58

Nope not been offered the drip yet until the examine to see if they can break my waters which I just have this feeling they will say no they can’t 🙈. Getting really fed up and frustrated. I’m having an induction because I am a diabetic and the movements have been greatly reduced over the last two weeks. Hoping today brings us our baby!
