So many sick days

Same shit, different day.
I have had bad morning sickness throughout this pregnancy. Now at 27 weeks- and barely a single week at work has passed where I've made it through the entire working week without being sent home sick.

Feeling awful and exhausted today and know my boss is going to suggest I leave soon.

Feeling very emotional and my throat is so sore from vomiting.

Also feeling very guilty at the amount I've been leaving work. Generally try to make it through till 12 so it counts as half a days work at least.

Really don't know what the point of this post was- more to whine a bit I guess and just vent. I'm tired and sick and I've had enough.

Can you get a sick note? Explain to your gp?

Paie · 30/04/2018 12:06

GP is more than happy to hand out a sick note- however I don't want one!
Work wouldn't let me return until the sick note had ended and we really can't afford for me to go back onto Stat sick pay ATM.

Maternity sickness is different to normal sickness. It's noted down differently because they cannot discipline you for it or fire you for it. As long as you clearly state the reason for being off is down to your pregnancy.

Sad some people just have horrible pregnancies, there's nothing you could do to change this so try not to feel guilty. Although it feels like forever at the moment, you'll get through it and have however more working years before retirement to work hard! I pushed myself much harder than I should have in my pregnancies, in retrospect my bosses wouldn't have particularly cared either way, the business wouldn't have folded without me, and I could have been kinder to myself. I hope you feel better soon.

I know how you feel :( I was vomiting constantly until about 25 weeks. I ended up on anti sickness tablets from Dr which helped. From week 25 to 28 it lessened until I stopped completely. Have had the odd meal that didn't agree with me but that's it. Work can't make you start maternity early unless you go off sick for a pregnancy related Illness a month before your due date. Get as much sleep as you can when you're home it will pass!

Have you the option to do any working from home? I had to battle for 4 weeks but finally was permitted to work part time was home, and am currently using annual leave to make up my hours.
