Cant comment on the Prep as I didnt have one. But I did have a microwave steriliser. Loved it as all it needed was water in the bottom, shove all the crap in and 6mins in the microwave.

Microwave sterilisers are amazing. Just check it fits in your microwave!
And PP is 100% worth it. Especially if you shop around for an offer.

Ginger1982 · 29/04/2018 19:14

Definitely get a PP.
I bought Tommee Tippee back to nature set including steriliser and it was good. Just added a bit of water.

Tommee tippe microwave sterliser £12 in asda less then half price

KTD27 · 30/04/2018 07:18

We bought the Mam bottles which self sterilise in the microwave. Loved them! Also had a microwave steriliser for other bits and pieces.
I breastfed but got a perfect prep when my little boy was older and we had begun to mixed feed for night time bottles it was ace!

Thepeopleversus · 30/04/2018 07:27

Just checking, as people often get mixed up, you know the PP doesn't sterilise?

Having said that, PP well worth it for me! And we have a plug in steam steriliser which is quick and easy to use.

alltalknobaby · 30/04/2018 07:27

PP isn't a steriliser but was a life saver for us. Highly recommend cold water steriliser.

BobbiBabbler · 30/04/2018 07:29

Perfect prep is great. Microwave sterilisers are faff. I gave up on it and used a tub of water with steriliser tablets.

CuriousCatty · 30/04/2018 07:33

I love my tommee tippee PP machine and the microwave steriliser is so easier to use!

MrsG95 · 30/04/2018 07:55

I expressed DS1 so used Tommee Tippee electric steriliser which was good.
Haven't bothered with one this time as I'm hoping to exclusively breastfeed.
If baby follows his brothers footsteps n doesn't latch then I'll probably just use cold water steriliser

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 30/04/2018 08:13

I had the perfect prep and it was worth every single penny IMO! Used it from the day he was born until he went on cows milk at 1

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 30/04/2018 08:14

I had an electric steriliser which came as a set with the prep machine and I think microwave sterilisers are better

ProseccoPoppy · 30/04/2018 08:58

We had a Philips Avent microwave steriliser which was useful and very good and had slots to hold breast pump shields/cones etc in place rather than just bottles so was a bit more flexible. It also had handles at the side so could be removed from the microwave with less risk of burning yourself. It was a replacement for a Tommee Tippee
Microwave Steriliser that after a few weeks of use was we were given that was horrid - no handles, only really fit tommee Tippee bottles (which we and DD hated).

I expressed with DC1 and am breastfeeding DC2 so can’t comment on perfect prep machine from first hand experience as we’ve never needed to consider one but I would say that every other Tomee Tippee product we used was just awful and very poorly designed (bottles that had horrible teats that even on the slowest flow made DC1 choke and which leaked, a no spill sippy cup that could not be cleaned properly as the lid didn’t fully dismantle, crappy steriliser as described above) so I would have been very wary of buying that if we were formula feeding. Does it only work with Tomee Tippee bottles? If so, I would think very carefully as we found those horrid to use.
