Early pregnancy bleeding

I found out I’m pregnant last Sunday, couldn’t have been more of a shock but I’m truly thrilled and excited!
I don’t have regular periods anyway so just assumed lots of cramping was my weird body.
After I found out, Monday - Wednesday lots of cramping and a bit of sickness but now I just feel exhausted!
Friday night around 1am, went to the bathroom and found some blood only when I wiped. Obviously freaked out. Bleeding on and off Saturday - phoned my hospital who said unless it’s filling a pad every 30 mins then to just ride it out?!
I’m not leaking, it’s just there when I wipe and last night/this morning is darker in colour. Obviously terrified and not sure what to do/think. I think I’m around 5/6 weeks but my app has me at 8 due to irregular periods. Any views would be so helpful!

Could be implantation bleeding. Some people also have bleeding on and off throughout pregnancy (extra hormones flying about mean increased blood flow to your cervix, and it can also make polyps be a bit more active and likely to bleed). It's really hard to guess what might be the cause, but it doesn't always mean the worst. Fingers crossed for you x

I should also add, I have no cramps and not in any discomfort. Just not sure what to think!
