The cloth nappy stash begins...

I set up a wish list for some cloth nappy paraphernalia, and people have bought some bits and pieces, so it's started to arrive! I feel unreasonably excited about this...

I have this feeling I might end up getting a bit obsessed with them!

Anyone else stocking up on something in particular for when baby arrives?

I'm another cloth nappy enthusiast! I tried not to buy too many in advance of DD putting in an appearance but I just can't stop. My favourites are a set of Charlie banana pirate themed ones. I've bought a mix of new and second hand, my mate considers this the most disgusting thing she's ever heard but that's a whole other thread 😂

I never thought I would be the sort of person to get excited about nappies, what a sad life I now lead!

I absolutely loved my cloth nappies 😍

My daughter is 12 now, but I kept a newborn one & a rainbow one 💕

I'm also shockingly excited about cloth nappies! Bambino Mio solo love!

Loosemoose28 · 28/04/2018 11:50

I bought mine second hand (little lamb + bumgenius) and was given 15 mio solos.

Been really lucky as means have only spend about £50.

I’ve bought some newborn pop-ins to add to the stash I already use on DC1. Hopefully he’ll be potty trained before the new arrival needs them!

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 28/04/2018 16:34

I’m 22 weeks and yet to start my stash! I keep looking at destash adverts and wondering if I should start...

Duckland · 28/04/2018 16:40

@Didntcomeheretofuckspiders it's real nappy week until Sunday so now is the best time to start stashing! Lots of retailers have discounts on this week :)

Mooana · 28/04/2018 16:43

It’s hortibly addictive! I clothed DC1 from 9 Months and am browsing newborn stuff already (not due until November!)
Try not to stock up on too many of each brand though (as beautiful as they are!) as some nappies just don’t work on some babies! I have a whole box of lovely nappies that just didn’t work on my little one. On the other hand I now have a ridiculous collection of MioSolos which work best for us... keeping everything crossed they work for DC2 otherwise I’ll be a bit stuck!!

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 28/04/2018 18:15

I just don’t know where to start! I want to use muslin prefolds with covers from birth I think and then move on to all in one or all in two nappies but I’m worried if I buy too much too soon we’ll realise that what I’ve got really won’t work for us!

FranticallyPeaceful · 28/04/2018 18:31

How many do I need? I’m due in May and this is my third baby and third attempt of cloth nappies! First time I was just struggling too much in general and got the wrong type and had no clue how to do it, second time we were in hospital too much and couldn’t do cloth and now I’m going to try again! I’ve bought MioSolo, I think I have 13 so far. How many more would I need? It’s very confusing! I still need to watch some YouTube videos on how to use them to be honest

Mooana · 28/04/2018 18:31

There’s a few ace groups on Facebook (cloth bum mums) etc that offer tons of advice if you’re not in them already it’s worth checking out xx

Me me! Ridiculously excited I get to use newborn cloth again. I only had TotsBots size 1 for DC1, who was a chunky baby and fitted them at 10lb/4 weeks. Intend to cloth from birth this time (like, in hospital!) and hoping to buy a stash of newborn Pop ins. I have a stash of Pop ins (btp) but I’d really like a newborn size so I can go right from birth. Not phased this time and used to the washing/storing etc so figure it’s a good excuse for new wet bags and wipes!

RosaBaby2 · 28/04/2018 20:09

I was given some Tots Bots size 1’s, they needed wraps so that set me off. Now I can’t stop. I got a real bargain though 6 x Easy Fit Stars from Joules for £4.95 each, was soo chuffed!!

39 weeks today so got to fill my time with shopping, obviously Grin

Bromeliad · 28/04/2018 22:49

I'm 27 weeks with my first and I'm going to give it a go. I've got some Miosolos but I'm not sure what's best for the first month or so. What are people's recommendations for newborns?
