DD is Thurs so I'm currently 39+2. 2nd pregnancy, DS didn't arrive till 42+2 Shock
Over analysing every niggle, I can't help myself!

Please come keep me company, the days are so long!

38+1 here! Only made it to 36+3 with DS1 so the struggle is real 😂
I'm also over analysing every niggle, but nothing as of yet! Actually think I'm in "slow labour", but nothing regular comes from it!

Needmorehands · 28/04/2018 11:12

37+5 here but baby is measuring big so if I go over they're going to start piling on teh pressure. 3 of my current 4 have arrived at 39 and a half weeks so hopefully I have just under 2 weeks to go - my money is on the weekend DH is running a half marathon!
VERY ready to be the only person in my ribs again :)

scaredofthecity · 28/04/2018 11:31

Ah man I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be early first time and then not second. I'm convinced slow labour isn't real, it's just been invented to make us feel better!
I've had all the bloody symptoms including some painful BH but it's all just teasing. It hasn't helped that my midwife attempted a sweep and although she couldn't quite do it she said she thought it wouldn't be long.... that's just false hope!
Wow number 5, I guess it doesn't get any easier. I keep thinking that today would be a really bad day, like my DH managed to get a puncture a few days ago, but no such luck.

39 plus one here. Every day pains and I think "is this it?" every night they go away.
Hate the last few days and weeks. It really drags.
I'm currently sitting on the "good couch" tempting fate that my waters might break and ruin it..my dh thinks I'm nuts.
Fingers crossed we all go into labour soon!

MrsG95 · 28/04/2018 11:53

I could do with getting this baby out. In so much pain and feel terrible for 2yo ds as he's wondering why mummy can't actually run around with him anymore 😭

Ekphrasis · 28/04/2018 18:58

Hi 38 today :) DS was 42 weeks, but they don't let you go that long here anymore, plus I'm 41 (hasn't made a huge difference though it seems!) it was an EMCS so I've an ELCS booked for 40+6 as long as I don't panic and bring it forward and I'm hoping to labour naturally for a vbac. But feel it's unlikely!

I kind of feel too relaxed about it all as it took another month for ds - still not really packed my bag Shock!

cautiousoptimist1 · 28/04/2018 19:04

I’m 37 weeks today and totally fed up of being pregnant. I had DD at 39+1 so I’m hoping I only have a couple of weeks left, certainly can’t bear the thought of it being another 5 weeks!

Girlwiththearabstrap · 28/04/2018 19:13

38 +4 and no twinges, not engaged in the slightest etc. DD came at 34 +5 after an induction for pre eclampsia so I feel lucky to have escaped that but super impatient. I'm on a FB group where literally everyone seems.to be having contractions, up at triage getting checked etc. As I've had no early labour signs at all I'm assuming I'm going to be late!

scaredofthecity · 29/04/2018 09:49

Had a false alarm, thought my waters might have gone a bit yesterday but now I'm not so sure Blush
We've got a half decent sofa and I spent all afternoon sitting on a wedge of towels, now I'm deliberately not sitting on towels willing another gush, I'm with you chips!
MrsG have you tried acupuncture? I've really struggled with severe pgp and it has worked wonders, plus it has the added benefit of possibly inducing labour.

I only just packed my bag a few days ago Ekphrasis I'm definately a bit more chilled this time. It hasn't stopped me frantically checking birth stats and obsessing about strangers 1st vs 2nd births though. Even though my DS was so very late I have hope.

38+6 here and I'm so uncomfortable! Had really bad stomach cramps yesterday that got worse in the night I really thought it was the start of something but nodded off around 1 and I've woken up with nothing 😔 hopefully we won't be long!

emily199027 · 29/04/2018 13:39

38+5 here! C section on Wednesday and I'm feeling everyone's pain! Counting down the sleeps like a kid at Christmas 😂
So wanting to get the house clean and tidy which is impossible with a 2.5 yo. Everything I'm tidying up he's getting back out 🙈
I'm in so much pelvic pain it's unreal!

Lou0390 · 29/04/2018 14:24

39 weeks today, seriously ready for this baby to come out now. 3/5ths engaged but can see myself going over 🙈

MrsG95 · 29/04/2018 16:54

I'm a bit sceptical about having needles stuck in me City! Although with the amount of pelvic pain I'm in, I'm willing to give anything a try.
The last few days have been awful. When walking my right hip seizes up and it honestly feels like it's snapping. I have to stop for a couple minutes when it happens 😭

Ekphrasis · 29/04/2018 17:09

Hope you're ok today scared?

Glad it's not just me re bag! I'm hoping to go into labour naturally when I don't have a wobble but then keep thinking I'm probably having an elcs in 3 weeks - screws with my packing plans! Think there will have to be two piles of some of the stuff to be packed the night before the section!

scaredofthecity · 29/04/2018 19:39

Honestly MrsG95 the relief has been amazing, and you don't actually see the needles. I was on max strength cocodamol and struggling with the side effects, I don't have to take anything now. The pain is still there slightly but so much more manageable.

Yeh no more 'waters' but some painful BH. I'm so done. I've got another sweep booked tomorrow so fingers crossed.

You could just have a bag, and then some extra bits in another bag ready for your section Ekphrasis. I haven't packed half the stuff I did last time, I just haven't got the energy! It just feels so different this time.... I know what's coming!

I'm so envious of your end date Emily its the anticipation that's the worst. At least your so nearly there. I don't know whose worse at undoing my tidying, my DS or my bloody DH.

I'm 3/5 engaged as well Lou and peeing all the time. Unfortunately I'm not sure it means much.

I might have a look into it.
Been feeling very unusual today.. extreme exhaustion, I honestly feel like I can't get off sofa to go to bed.
Would missing 1 day of iron tablets have effects? Surely I'm not feeling like this because of 1 missed day?

Lou0390 · 29/04/2018 19:51

Been feeling exhausted today but booked in for reflexology as I heard it can help.

Sorry TMI but what's the difference between normal pregnancy discharge and losing your part of your plug?? Thanks 🙈

scaredofthecity · 29/04/2018 20:04

Iron tablets are long release so I wouldn't think so... maybe it's a sign? Or maybe it's just what being heavily pregnant feels like, I've found this last week particually exhausting. Fingers crossed for you.

When's your reflexology? I've heard great things about it, but the acupuncture is already £££ and we can't really afford anything else.
I'm not really sure about plug, I had some really thick yellow mucous and my mw said that sounded like plug but was 2 weeks ago now so possibly not. I think if it is blood stained that's a really good sign.

OP posts:
Lou0390 · 29/04/2018 20:06

Hi booked in for Tuesday so hopefully will help but either way will be a nice treat.
Yea I'm thinking it's not the plug as it's been happening for over a week. Will keep with raspberry leaf tea and my exercise ball in the meantime

Ekphrasis · 29/04/2018 20:07

I don't know whose worse at undoing my tidying, my DS or my bloody DH.

I hear you.

I was 3/5 engaged with ds from about 36 weeks to the 42. Pissed me off! I'm that much now; I think it increases on the days Bh are painful.

I think mucus plug can be a bit snotty and bits of red? My discharge is very vinegary and a pale yellow. But has been like that for ages (I think is ok?!)

Ekphrasis · 29/04/2018 20:14

Actually some recent research shows its better to have iron tablets every other day as there's a limit to what we absorb (but not usual practice yet so don't try it!)

I have days where I've got lots of energy and days where I'm wiped and dizzy, like today. Getting annoying.

Fannyfanakerpants · 29/04/2018 20:21

I'm 37 +5 with dc3 and keep looking for signs but really not ready. I've gone in to nesting mode and starting painting my living room so currently have all the furniture in the middle of the room. So I need to finish that, have the oesteopath booked this week, I need to batch cook, get up to date with washing and clean the kitchen properly. Then we're good to go!

MrsG95 · 29/04/2018 21:35

The plug regenerates so you guys probably have been losing it. I lost parts between weeks 22 and 31. It's only when it's red tinged (blood) that it's a sign.
It looks like thick snot tbh. I remember with DS1 it was really stringy and light green. This pregnancy it's been more stretchy and more transparent.

Givemethebiggestslice · 29/04/2018 21:59

36+5 and beyond exhausted.
One more week at work to go - am starting to panic about going into labour at work (it’s a 1.5 hour commute home.....)
