I'm 31 weeks and LO has been feet down every time I've been examined or scanned.

I'm still getting loads of movement, and over the last week or so he seems to have discovered kicking and punching me at once -at any rate am getting simultaneous movement in two spots lots of the time. EG one lot to the left of my belly button and one to the right just under my ribs. Also most of the activity is low down and always has been - have had only a couple of those rib pains I keep hearing about.

Am assuming this means he isn't head down and ready to go?

Moorhen, I'm 36+3 and a couple of days ago the MW told me he's head down, although OP (back to back). The kicking is exactly as you describe - simultaneous, left of my belly button and just under my ribs on the right. (ow!) but he's been doing it a few weeks, and has been head down for ages as well at every check.
She said she could only feel limbs, not a bottom or back...so I assume this means the movements I can feel (& see) are little feet by my ribs, and little hands by my belly button. ??
Sounds like yours may have turned? But I'm not an expert!

Oh yes, the heartbeat - she confirmed he was OP by finding the heartbeat on both sides of my tummy, I don't know if your Mw said anything about this? Worth asking next time!

ok both times MW told me baby was "small" and panicked me, had to have late scan - when infact they were both lateral (sideways)

they really don't have a clue with their patting! don't stress. the baby has loads of time to get in the right position.
