Sudden no warning miscarriage?

I'm 10 weeks pregnant and throughout this pregnancy I've had no spotting or any cramping at all.

Two days ago I suddenly and without warning had a large bright red bleed with clots. After 10 mins of sitting on the loo and bleeding into it I passed something solid and large, it landed in the toilet with a pop/spalsh. I couldn't see what it was because the toilet was filled with blood.

I had no pain other than a few twinges and the bleeding slowly reduced to brown spotting over the next day.

Not had bleeding since (two days later) but do have very mild barely there cramping.

My epu have booked me for a scan next Wedsnesday which seems like a lifetime away, has anyone experienced this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy.

The fact that I passed something large and solid makes me think it's all over. And my sickness has decreased since that day alomg with my food aversions. And I just feel better over all and more like myself again.

I guess I'm just asking for opinions on what you think it is. I'd have no doubt it was a miscarriage but the fact that I had no pain and only a day of bleeding makes me wonder what else it could be Hmm

My miscarriage was quite painful tbh but only for a short period when I passed a lot of blood and clots (was about 8 weeks). So after I passed the fetus/embryo (not sure what it's called at that stage), I had no more pain. I can't remember how long the bleeding lasted.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Thanks

@gigi556 thank you for the reply, it's so confusing not knowing what has happened. I've never heard of anyone having a miscarriage with no pain and only a few hours of bleeding and yet I definitely passed something that felt more substantial than a clot.

If it was a miscarriage I can't believe I passed it within 10 mins of bleeding with no warning at all. So sad Sad

I've had 6 mc's Nd every one was different. A couple of them I was in agony and the others no pain at all! But with all of them I bleed for a few days first before anything passed.
I personally haven't had an experience like that but everyone if different.
I do hope everything is OK.

Sorry to hear this. Sadly and sorry to say it but I had a miscarriage that sounds very similar to yours. No pain, just a bleed followed by the splash. I did have continuous bleeding after though for a week or so? So there's some hope right there.

And some people experience bleeds during pregnancy.

Wishing you all the best OP

@snowbake I had the exact same thing at 10 weeks! The blood was literally pouring out of me to the point I had to call an ambulance! I passed something bloody and large and i assumes I'd passed the baby but was just a large clot and when I was in hospital I had a scan and baby was fine! I'm now 24 weeks so bleeding even heavy doesn't always mean a miscarriage. I had an early loss at 5-6 weeks a few years back and I bled heavily for about a week. I'd go to A&E if I was you to see if they will be able to help!

@Unicorncow thanks for the reply! I couldn't find anything online that seemed similar to what I experienced so it's really reassuring to hear that.

Did you feel the large clot come out? I feel like what I felt was too solid to be a clot but I'll remain optimistic Smile

I felt it come out as it was maybe about half the size of my fist! My fiancé (now ex) saw it too and he was sure I'd passed the baby bit paramedics reassured us it was just a large clot. I really hope you can get seen sooner because the not knowing is horrendous! I was so sure I'd miscarried as I didn't think a baby could survive that but clearly they can!

Just going to update this in case anybody goes through something similar...

I did indeed have a miscarriage at 10 weeks with less than 1 day of bleeding and zero pain.
I passed everything within 10 minutes of the bleeding starting so it was very sudden and without warning (no spotting or pain beforehand).

I guess I'm lucky in that I had no pain at all and it was over quickly but I'm just so shocked that it started and finished so fast.

Thanks for all your replies ladies xx
