Hiya went for my follow up scan i am.now just over 14 weeks today and babys bowel and all the liver is free floating consultant said it is quite a servere hole and is quite worried incase the lungs dont develop properly...i had a cvs waiting for results from that which will be next week ... depending on the results of that i may end the pregnancy if there is anything else wrong with baby... im just worried about long term hospital stays and if baby will have any long term lifestyle difficulties also high risk pregnancy..i have a 4 year old daughter aswell as the stress of always being at hospital if and after baby is here is another factor im just so confused its not gastroschisis as the hole is quite big....any advice would be amazing or experience with liver outside aswell as bowel.... thanks

I don't have any advice, but wishing you all the best however it turns out and whatever you decide Flowers

Sounds very scary for you. I have limited experience as a nurse of seeing the occasional child with similar. Is it exomphalos? I have heard of babies with this who have done really well, needed an initial operation but then nothing further. To be honest I haven't heard of the liver being outside too.
Obviously be guided by your medical team, don't be pushed into terminating if that's not what you want. If you're near London, the team at Kings College Hospital, Dr Kypros Nikolaides is great at dealing with very complicated pregnancies/babies. Might be worth getting an opinion from there?
I hope things become more positive for you.
