First scan hurry up!!! 🙄🙄🙄

Hey everyone

Just a rant here so anyone who wants to rant feel free!! 9+1 today and have my booking appointment tomorrow! Can anyone tells me what it involves?? Do they book you in for your 12 week scan??

All I keep dreaming about at the moment is having the first scan I'm so desperate to finally see him/her and to know that everything is hopefully okay at this stage But I know the next 3/4 weeks are going to go sooo slowly!! Just want 12 weeks to be here already!!

Has anyone else got there 12 week scan soon??

I'm the same I've got my scan in 12 days and it's taking forever to come I've already had 2 early scans due to bleeding so I'm so scared that something's going to be wrong but also so excited I wish

Depends on your area but this was mine.

Whole heap of family history questions and medical history of yourself including previous losses or births etc.

Questions of mental or physical disabilities in family that are hereditary including asthma etc

Blood work
Urine sample
BP/monoxide/alcohol questions.

You are taken in alone first and maybe asked if you are at risk of domestic violence - if so do you require support or police attendance.

Whole heap of other stuff done by midwife.

12 week scan organised at hospital in area (you can change).

Information about what scan involves and NT information.

It lasted about 80minutes for me.

Again, depends where you are and local policy

I am similar stage as you! I had a private scan measuring 9 weeks exactly on Tuesday. I just had my 12 week scan letter come through the door yesterday 17th May... it can't come quick enough!

My 12 week scan is on Tuesday, it's gone quite quickly until this week which has lasted forever.

I didn't get my date at the booking in appt but received a letter in the post around a week later.

@Trixie101 it's my 2nd but more nervous this time round for some reason didn't have half as many worries with my 1st xx

My midwife put a form through for my 12 week scan.
For your booking appointment you'll get asked a million questions, about your health and wellbeing, the baby's dad, any family history. Then bloods, urine, carbon monoxide test.

Mine's on Saturday. I had my booking appointment on the 16th - bloods, urine, questions, carbon monoxide test. It's not very exciting. I'm glad I only found out when I was 8 weeks otherwise I think I'd have cracked and paid for a private scan.

Oh, midwife referred me but also told me to call tbe hospital to book my scan as I was already 11 weeks. Called the next morning and they had already allotted me a slot.
