Pregnant after miscarriage!?

Hi all,

I had a miscarriage on March 21ST, few days after that, I was tested negative on a hospital pregnancy test.

13 April, I started to have pink discharge then went to watery red stopped for a day and watery red on and off and only on wiping (TMI)..

This has gone on for almost two weeks and only gone white and a bit of brown mucus.

My boobs still hurt so I thought I’d take a pregnancy test and to my surprise came up with a faint line quite quickly. I took this around seven ish in the evening.

I’m trying to stay calm.. but I just want to hear your thought and experiences?

I wanted to post a picture up, but I am the worse at this!

But any input would be appreciated

Assuming that you have been having sex, then it is entirely possible that you have ovulated and fallen pregnant again.

Firstly, sorry to hear about you losing your baby. Is it possible that you could be pregnant again so soon? When would your period be due or is is too hard to work out after miscarriage?

That’s what I was thinking.. initially, I thought it was my period but it just wasn’t really coming through if that makes sense. I wasn’t really bleeding. I was getting so frustrated at the situation though I tried to think to myself, my body is out of whack and it’s completely normal. But then, my husband was like, maybe you’re pregnant again? And I said, no, I can’t be. I don’t feel like I am? But in the back of my head.. my peeing on a stick addiction got me so I took a test.

So I have no idea when I should have gotten my period.. but my doctor did say four to six weeks.

I guess try another test in 2 weeks if not much bleeding in between? Good luck (assuming that is what you want),

Thank you guys! It’s really nice that someone is actually replying and knowing that someone is on the other side of the computer!

I’m trying to stay calm but each time I go to the toilet, I feel like I might find blood again ;( each little bit of pain I worry but then I’m like, chill out. I haven’t got to tell my husband yet because he’s away for work and I really just want to tell him face to face! Been trying to book the doctors but they said next available appointment is a two week wait. So I explained the situation to the receptionist and she said a doctor will ring me to talk tomorrow. Which is nice and much more reassuring.

Hi all,

I spoke to the doctors today and she was really understanding! I told her about my worries and some of the lower backaches and cramps I have been getting and she reassured me that it was all normal and as long as it’s not just to one side. She said to take a pregnancy test again and Call up the midwives for an appointment next week if positive though I already explained the hospital already tested me negative a few days after the miscarriage. Guess she just wants to make sure! She also said try not to worry and distract myself for a bit.

Finger crossed all goes well and I will keep you all updated :) and talk about some of the “symptoms” I’ve had.

I miscarried at 8 weeks and fell pregnant again without a period. Second pregnancy carried to term but I did get a lot of complaining and sighing from midwives over the fact I hadn't left it a period to conceive.

Some said it was because my body needed a chance to recover but a doctor later in my pregnancy admitted it was because it made it hard to date the likely due date.

Fingers crossed everything is ok this time.

I’m sorry to hear about your miscarriage and to hear the midwives giving you grief but I am so so happy for you!

How old is your little one now?

I’ve read a lot of different things About why it’s important to wait at least one cycle, and majority seem to say because it’s easier to date.. I was worried a bit about the doctor saying that I should have waited or some sort of grief.. but she was just really nice.

Definitely have everything crossed.. I still get paranoid when I feel “wet” thinking I’ll see some tinged discharge or blood or when I get cramps.. but last time, I didn’t have any cramps until the moment the miscarriage happened.. so I hope they’re just stretching pains.

Also, I couldn’t help myself but.. I took a clear blue digital that says Pregnant 1-2 weeks, eek!!!!!!!

Hi all,

I think I might be having another miscarriage again.. at around the same time With the last one I started spotting Brown ish discharge at five weeks..

I find myself at the hospital again- will let you guys know what happens. But I’m just so upset.

Hi Meadow flowers,

So the nurse did a speculum exam to see if my cervix was open or closed, luckily this time it was closed. I was really relieved to hear that.

The nurse also commented on how much discharge there was so she took a lot of swabs.. she also said I had cervical erosion which also caused a bit of the bleed hence the tinged discharge.

She took some bloods and just now they called to say my HCG levels is at 36. She said that they were expecting it to be a lot higher going from the dates that I have provided them with, I’m guessing they were counting my miscarriage as last period start date. So I will be going back in to test on Tuesday to see if the levels have gone up at all.

They said atm, it’s still too early to rule out ectopic pregnancy or if I will miscarry.

I don’t really know what to think.

Don't over think. Just try to relax. I know it's easier said than done but you've got to try. I really hope you aren't going to miscarry. Get some relaxing music and try relaxation breathing. Don't have too hot baths either as it raises your blood pressure. Please keep me informed. I can't stop what's happening and don't even really know what to say but sometimes it's just nice to know someone is listening and that you're not worrying on your own.

Hi everyone,

Had another blood test today and found the levels have dropped to 9. Thursday will have another blood test done.. but still waiting for the miscarriage to actually happen.

Have two miscarriages in a row has really broke me mentally and definitely physically. I really wanted it all to happen but it looks like it never will. I know that’s just irrational talk but I’ll just give this ttc thing a break.

Aww mochi, you have my deepest sympathy. My baby days are over as my youngest is now 10 but I really do feel for you.
When you do eventually miscarry, you need to give yourself time as you are grieving and need to give your mind and your body time to heal. It will happen but maybe it was too soon second time round. If you want to be pregnant then just relax and it will happen. Seriously though don't rush too soon after this one. Let your body have a couple of periods to settle back down and let your hormones settle. You must be all over the place right now. Arrange a weekend away or a night out or a spa day. Just some down time for you both. Good luck and you will conceive, just keep trying. Be patient. If you're working, then try to have a bit of time off. Please let us know how you get on in the future.

I'm so sorry to hear that Mochi. It's such a horrid time. I had a miscarriage at 5/6 weeks and I've just had a missed miscarriage picked up at my twelve week scan. It's such a horrible time. Do what you need to do to process this, but it doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with you, miscarriages happen for a whole number of reasons. It's taken me some time to process mine and I don't feel ready just yet either.

Thanks Meadow. I went back into work after a couple of days off, and really thought I could do it. maybe just trying to resume to normality.. but One surprise Call from the hospital to tell me my blood test now show negative hit me really hard. Harder than I thought. Sometimes, you think you’re prepared because you already know the answer, but when the moment you’re told that it’s actually happened, nothing can really prepare you for that. So I ended up leaving work early. My husband and I have agreed to give ourselves more time, and he keeps telling me we’re in no rush. After this time, I will definitely give myself more time.

I’m so sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through. it must have been horrible finding out like that.. I agree, we just need some time out to process everything that’s happened. But part of me has been really negative, can’t stop thinking there’s something wrong with me.

Thank you for your message.

I’ve taken sometime off from work, I feel like an absolute fraud because physically, I am okay now. I have my moments and really unsure if I could be that productive at work. but I’m not sure what to say to my boss whenever they text just to check in to see how I am. The managers have already said, take as much time out as I need. I was only thinking, maybe a week off so it’s a time where I don’t need to hold myself together all the time (I have a tendency to put a smile on even when I don’t want to). So I’ve avoided seeing anyone at all for now.

Everyone is different but I don’t know what to do with myself..

See how you feel. Sometimes being with people pulls you back up and gets you feeling back to normal again. It's never going to go away but it gets easier. Have you told your managers why you are off?

Sorry, I didn’t realise you messaged. Yes, they knew about it and have said that take as long as I need off and no questions asked basically.

In the end, I took one week off and carried on. A lot of happened since, more bad than good but I definitely feel so much better now.

I’m back on the TTC road and hoping for the best!
