viral infection in pregnancy

Not sure if anyone can help.

Posted this morning about not feeling well but had no responses. Trying again

Not quite sure what's wrong with me. Woke up this morning with horrendous sore throat. Stiff neck, can barely move my head, muscle aches, think I have a slight fever, whole body hurts. I'm 3 months pregnant and suffering from morning sickness also which makes this 10x worse.

Was recommended ibuprofen but of course cannot take whilst pregnant. Anyone any ideas on how I can gain a little relief?

Hi @moreismore - can't get in to my docs for two days so thought I'd ask the question as I know many people suffer with viruses in pregnancy.

Sounds horrible :-( morning sickness is bad enough without all the other stuff too :-(

I'm no Dr so would say to wait for their advice or maybe call 111? They do have drs there to talk to (after you've been triaged by the call centre staff)

Thanks @Aw12345 - it's amazing how much worse you feel when you're sick in your first trimester compared to when you're not pregnant. I usually work through everything but I feel totally helpless!

Completely relate to that, was non-functional human being for the 1st 20 weeks! Does get easier for most people so hang in there :-)

You can take paracetamol whilst pregnant.
