Hi,
I had my 20 week scan last week and was informed one lung appeared brighter than the other so have been back today to be scanned by a doctor who confirmed the left lung is noticeably brighter and I am now being referred to my nearest specialist hospital for them to check him out. He says if the lung gets bigger it will push his heart and may require an early delivery with surgery. Alls that is in my notes is, echobright left lower lung CAM
Can anyone share any experience with this or offer me any advice, I'm trying my best not to worry but it's so hard.
Thanks

I've not been in your position but I know you must be really worried and it's such a scary time Flowers

I've just done a quick google on your behalf. CAM is cystic adenomatoid malformation (to do with small cysts forming on the lung). It is associated with a very good prognosis and the condition often resolves by itself before or shortly after birth. Hopefully you will see the specialist soon and he or she can explain what is going on more clearly. I think you will get regular scans to keep an eye on it - think of it as more opportunities to see baby! - and as it's been spotted then you have the best of all chances. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xxx
