DC2, 36+5, usually does some acrobatics this time of evening which are uncomfortable but not painful. Tonight though they're almost bringing a tear to my eye and making me gasp. Is this normal???

Spontaneous labour with DC1 that was very gradual with contractions increasing in strength over about 7 hours. This pain is quite different, just under the belly button and above vagina. Only when baby moves. Is it digging itself into position maybe?

Having a warm bath to take the edge off.

Omg i remember this so vividly with ds born 6 months ago! And you would see limbs and his body shuffling about! 😷 would be agony! You have my sympathies!

NerNerNerNerBATMAN · 23/04/2018 19:57

venus thank you 😭 I presume it wasn't the start of impending labour, just a new, shit, normal?

I could go with a few more weeks to get my life sorted!

I had something similar when pregnant with DD- felt how I imagined lightning would feel or like a needle being jammed into a nerve. My midwife said it was DD bouncing her head around ready to engage

NerNerNerNerBATMAN · 23/04/2018 19:58

tissue a needle slamming into a nerve, absolutely right!!!

Thank you ladies, I'm feeling slightly reassured

Yes i remember that -it was awfully painful.

Hopefully not too much longer now - I remember when ds used to turn over and it winded me! Elbows in the ribs the works!

I used to pour water on my bump in the bath and that calmed him down.

venus417 · 23/04/2018 20:49

Yep just a new normal!

I'm having this at nearly 34 weeks with DC2. It definitely never happened with DC1.

Last night I actually screamed out in pain, and swore loudly. I didn't even do that at any point giving birth to DC1 (natural birth, only gas and air for the actual crowning bit).

I can't do this for another 6-8 weeks. I'm definitely prepared for this one to come early.

NerNerNerNerBATMAN · 23/04/2018 21:39

pasta totally know what you mean. I'm watching OBEM on catch up and trying to convince myself that I'm having contractions. I need to get to 37 weeks though to get a home birth. Knowing my luck I'll go to 42 weeks 😭😭😭

Fanny daggers. They used to make me cry. My ds kicked me inside out from about 30 weeks and then the fanny daggers started at about 36 weeks. He arrived spontaneously at 39+6. Good luck!

I have been having exactly the same for the last 2 weeks. Some are so painful that breathing is difficult. Can't wait till the end. Hopefully ELCS next week but I still don't have a date Grin

I had a horrible nagging nerve pain in my left hip from about 20 weeks until it went away suddenly at about 36 weeks. I had to stop work at 26 weeks because I couldnt' stand (nursing).

Apparently baby had been lying and compressing a nerve and had suddenly shifted right round.

I've forgiven her now. She's 19.

I'm 36 weeks also and this has been happening every day since I was around 34 weeks..the shooting pain in the cervix I mean!

And like you said.. The movements in general are getting so strong! I had a dream she almost ripped through my skin.. Made me feel weird all day!

Still amazing.. But really freaky and painful!
