Reassure me please 5 weeks preggers (post mc)

I'm sorry I've been away, work! I really need some support though if you don't mind.

I went to the epu today, based on ov I think I'm 5+1. During the scan they said they could see a gestational sac but no yolk sac and no fetal pole which I have heard else where is ok for 5 weeks. But in the debrief they said they can't be sure because it is 5×5×7 mm so it could be a miscarriage or ectopic. They took blood to test hcg and will repeat on wed. I have just bought another frer and digi to see if my line has progressed and it has so it will be ok? DH burst into tears when he realised I'd hear the result over tge phone by myself at work.

@peachesarenom I just posted in the other group but jumping on here as I am interested to see if anyone replies. Like I said in the other one, I was 100% on dates at 5 + 3 but tonight the midwife couldn't see anything but an empty sac, saying maybe I have my dates mixed up or maybe something is wrong.

I think I don't believe them! I don't think they can tell much before 7 weeks.

Those tests look really promising and the 3+ on the clearblue too. My tests looked exactly like yours with this pregnancy, I had a mc immediately before too. I’m 13 weeks now. It took me til 6 weeks to get the 3+ on clearblue.
Obviously I can’t give any guarantees, but all looking good so far. When you are so early they struggle to see much on the scan.

I’ve been through this twice in the past year, the first time it turned out to be a blighted ovum and Just the sac kept growing but nothing in it at following scans. The second time I really was just too early and a week later there was a yolk sac and fetal pole, the week after a heartbeat.
It really is too early to tell, give it a week or so and chances are all will be good and there will be a little flicker on screen

I also had this ! But before that they classed it as a pregnancy of unknown location as they couldn't find a baby anywhere ! 20 weeks today !!!! Fingers crossed for you x x x

Sounds normal for 5 weeks. I had a private scan (so better equipment than NHS) at 6 weeks bang on and could see the tiny fetal Pole with a heartbeat. Transvaginal scan obviously. NHS equipment isn’t that great and they often can’t see anything at all before six or even seven weeks.

I had a private scan at 5 weeks and could see gestational sac and yolk. They told me it looked promising as very round and even edges. At 7 weeks there was gestational pole and this amazing heartbeat, you could see it flashing on the screen. Good luck, op.

@peacesarenom when is your next scan? My week is going slowly waiting for mine 😫

My HCG has doubled but I have to have another scan on Friday to check where it is growing. I think it is still too soon.

Hi BobbySD345 mine went well. They could see a pole, yolk and possible heartbeat. How far along are you?

That's brilliant ! Have they said how far gone they think you are ? My calculation I'm 6 +1 but when I was there Monday and they saw an empty sac they said they thought more like 4 so who knows !
