I’m 6 months pregnant and hunger has kicked in.... For the first 14 weeks I was so nauseaous all I could face was toast and crumpets! I did gain any weight at all for the first 4 months. Now at 6 months I’ve gained 11lbs and I’m so hungry! My food for today:
Breakfast - 2 slices of toast and an egg
Mid morn - fruit and soya yog
Lunch - small piece of quiche and salad, orange
Afternoon - apple and a pear
Dinner - sea bass and pasta

Is this too much food?? Seems like a lot now I’ve written it down!

Seems absolutely fine to me.

Girlwiththearabstrap · 23/04/2018 15:08

I don't think that seems excessive, pregnant or not!

Cosmoa · 23/04/2018 15:10

The amount it fine but be careful not to eat too much sea bass! As I was told by my midwife to avoid it (and other large fishes suh as tuna) when pregnant.

itallhappensforareason · 23/04/2018 15:11

That is absolutely not excessive in the slightest. A "normal" non-pregnant woman would eat that and probably more!

SoyDora · 23/04/2018 15:15

2 portions of sea bass a week is fine.

SoyDora · 23/04/2018 15:16

By the way, that’s less than I would eat normally and I’m a healthy weight (size 8-10)

Apart from the danger foods and watching sugar and salt intake (nothing extremely excessive like a whole pack of biscuits everyday with a whole pack of sweets etc) you should be able to eat what you want, I would suggest when you crave something sweet eat a sweet fruit instead like a banana or something but what you said sounds reasonable, you are eating for 2 after all!

Mousefunky · 23/04/2018 16:14

That is less than I would eat when not pregnant so no, not excessive at all.

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 23/04/2018 16:15

That’s less than I eat normally, let alone pregnant.

A normal day for me (22 weeks) would be:

  • Three small poached eggs (we have bantams so they are little!) on toast with avocado or tomatoes. On work days (I start at 7) I might have a bowl of cereal before I leave and take a smoked salmon bagel or some porridge for later on.
  • A glass of juice or two
  • A banana
  • A satsuma
  • Leftovers from the previous night for lunch
  • A diet fizzy drink or juice
  • A yoghurt like a muller corner or similar
  • Another piece of fruit
  • Possibly a chocolate bar, cookie or similar
  • Dinner is usually a big portion of something tasty but relatively healthy. Grilled chicken with cous cous and salad, stir fry, fajitas etc.
  • Small portion of ice cream or sorbet with fruit or similar.

Now that is quite a lot written down 😂

Ok that helps thank you all!!

I’m sure I’ll also there’ll also be biscuits and a cup of tea when I’m on the sofa later! It’s sweet stuff I can’t seem to get enough of.... trying the fruit and yog to put off the sweet cravings!
