Hi, I'm considering acupuncture for my SPD, ive had physio in this pregnancy for it and also had it in my last pregnancy - both times to no avail. My pain is in my pubic bone, i feel like its being ripped in two walking or walking up and down stairs and my physio says theres not much that can be done with regards to the movement therapy and im not feeling any benefits.

Has anyone had acupuncture for SPD? Also, apologies for my ignorance but ive never had acupuncture, do i need to seek an acupuncturist that specialises in this?

I've been having acupuncture in my back as part of chiropractic treatment. She usually massages my lower back, and does some acupuncture up my spine.

With my pelvis though, there's lots of pushing on various muscles and the front of my pelvis. She's never done acupuncture there. The pushing etc can be quite painful depending on how bad the SPD has got and occasionally I've felt a bit battered the next day but honestly I don't think I'd still be on my feet without her!
