Get a clearblue digital test as Munz said.

Just because you may be pregnant doesn't mean you don't have options JoJo...If your worried about being pregnant your period may be delayed anyway, been there several times.

Here if you need to talk, I can give you my email ad if you'd like to talk on msn?

nappyaddict · 16/05/2007 20:50

jojo lives in aus, so i'm not sure if you can get clearblue there?

ScottishThistle · 17/05/2007 00:46

When was her period due?

nappyaddict · 17/05/2007 01:10

i don't think she's too sure. she said the 12th but when i asked when her last one ended she thought the 25th but can only remember having a 4/5 day period. she went offline before we had chance to work it out properly.

ScottishThistle · 17/05/2007 01:13

So there's every chance she's got her dates mixed up & isn't pregnant then, she should give it a week & try not to think about it.

nappyaddict · 17/05/2007 01:24

no she's done a test and she is pregnant.

ScottishThistle · 17/05/2007 01:28

Sorry, didn't realise she'd had a positive test.

Hope she's ok.

Lemmiwinks · 17/05/2007 12:46

It's still very likely she is not pregnant b/c she also apparently went to the doctor who gave her a test that came up negative. Of course you can get a false negative so she has got to retest and/or go back to the doctor for blood work - the blood work picks up much lower levels of pregnancy hormones and therefore can be accurate earlier than a pee on the stick pregnancy test. I wish her lots of luck!

nappyaddict · 18/05/2007 08:42

she went to the doctor for a test 1.5 weeks after she had sex with him the first time. firstly at that early it is likely to come up negative, secondly she has slept with him since then.

nappyaddict · 18/05/2007 08:42

and i thought you couldn't get false positives?

munz · 19/05/2007 08:44

it depends you can have 'chemical pg's' in other words, you are but bean doesn't stick and is classes as a chem pg. not sure what the medical stance is on it thou.
didn't realise she was in oz

how are things now?

nappyaddict · 19/05/2007 13:47

isn't that just a miscarriage really early on? and she hasn't come on her period or had any bleeding.

the negative came before the positive so is likely she just wasn't pregnant when she had the first test.

whomovedmychocolate · 19/05/2007 13:52

I had a 'chemical pregnancy' where egg doesn't implant properly and is miscarried. I got a positive pregnancy test ten days post ovulation in this case, but it was gone by day 14 PO. In my case I went through three days of total euphoria followed by a lot of sorrow. So I wouldn't wish that on anyone, even if their circumstances are such that they wouldn't ideally choose this time to be pregnant.

I hope JoJo gets the result she wants though.

aikigypsy · 19/05/2007 14:10

Has anyone actually answered Jojo's question? I'd say, if you decide that you do want to keep it, wait until you are missing your second period, or about 2 months after your last one. At that point, though you're still in the first trimester, you'll have had plenty of time to think about what YOU want, and you'll also be past over half of the high-risk-for-miscarriage window. It begins to feel just a little more real, at least it did for me. So, that would be when you're "8 weeks" pregnant, which is really 6 weeks from conception.

I personally find this counting first day of LNMP entirely too confusing, and not good for those of us who have a pretty darn good idea when the deed was done!

nappyaddict · 19/05/2007 14:24

lots of people answered the op further down.
