Hello! I’ve changed my user name it was user then a load of numbers...anyway point is I’ve posted before. Anyhoo...I really need some experienced lovely mummies to help me out. My situation is v complicated see ‘not the Disney version the Jeremy Kyle one’ thread for background info! I need to know exactly what I need, I can google lists of baby essentials but they’re trying to sell you stuff..I want the word on the street, what’s worth buying and what isn’t. Is a Moses basket the second coming in first baby beds or is it flushing money down the crapper? Do I need one of those electric musical rocking things?! Or should I just hold the sprout and dance?!...hope you get my point please help. I’m stuck between a baby and a hard place! Thanks mums. So list of basic items, I need or that will just save my tired sleep deprived ass. Ex party girl needs help ASAP. 😫

...with a Fiat 500, as I also have a small car.
It's a joie Chrome, and she said she got it as the rear wheels pop off really easily and it then fitted in the boot.

It's not that expensive new either if you're looking to save money.
I think the bigger mothercare shops will let you try buggies out in your car to check what fits. 500s are definitely on the small side!

Mumsnet is eating my posts today.
What I meant to say is that I got my travel system off a mum with a Fiat 500 as I also have a small car.

Our house isn't massive so I didn't want loads of stuff if at all possible! We decided on a bedside crib and then bought the mamas and papas Ocarro travel system - the carrycot bit is suitable for overnight sleeping so we will use this for daytime naps instead of also buying a Moses basket. Also thought it would be handy to keep it off the sofa or floor as we have cats.

Hey all! Hope you’ve all had a great Sunday! I went for a grove farm carvery, if anyone’s visited the chain, bit disappointing tho. Plus on a really gross note I can’t tell anyone I know but you guys....has anyone experienced the hard then noisy green stinky poo?!? It’s smells horrific like out of this world bad! Like if a hangover, and the drug cocaine cut with laxatives were to have a poo, it wouldn’t even be as bad! I was mortified! Had to text my friend while on the loo!!! Some ladies came in then screamed eww and left! I was so embarrassed! BlushBlush but after all that...I did go to mother care. Will update you all on my ideas shortly.

Aaaah Poppy my love. I'm not sure Mumsnet is ready for the Pooh/drug humour 😂😂

GottaBeStrong · 22/04/2018 19:22

I can't say I have had that poo haha. Mine were more of the 'a rabbit has come to stay' variety. Blush

Re. travel systems / pushchairs and small boots, I’d advise finding a shop that will let you try them in your boot before you buy.

I did this in a big Mothercare shop, and it was very useful in helping me decide which was the most practical option for me.

This poppy is very sad this evening. Had a melt down at my neighbors. I’m a family friend, closer to the Mum(Marie)her daughters 32 vpretty called Faye but never keeps a man long, desperate for a baby anyway. She knows my two Dad drama and was sworn to Secrecy. I defended her to my mum (who doesn’t trust her) ect anyway I heard her brother on the phone to the Mum. I said hey Ben, heard him say “does she know who the dad is?” I lost it....how could they tell Him whose a perfect rich account who had an abortion with his perfect account girlfriend because a baby wouldn’t be convenient “but we’ll have a real baby one day!” I had stormed out that day calling them disgusting thinking I’d never have one. Now to hear him say that belittling me, belittling my baby. :( :( just so upset

Plus people told me she’s jealous ect she’ll tell, dont trust her. But I stood up for her, I’m so upset and hurt. I openly admit on here bout two dads but obviously anyone would understand in real life it caused massive problems and stress. I had to end my newest relationship over it. I’ve just had it with my life so unhappy

Again Hmm and to your other post about the “two dads” who both want to buy you ginger tea and look after you. You say some very weird things don’t worry I’m jumping right off your thread now. Just wanted to tell you not to be so judgy about people having abortions. I mean you don’t know who your baby’s father is?

SiolGhoraidh · 23/04/2018 13:33

Well, this all sounds massively relevant to what baby equipment you need.

Don't worry about updating us on the Mothercare outing, I think the poo story was more than enough information for me.

Poppylizzyrose · 23/04/2018 18:22

I do know who the father is now. I was upset because I am embarrassed about it all. Those posts were sent last night, once I get upset I just struggle to calm down. The main reason (apart from obviously loving children and wanting one one day) I’m keeping the baby is because I have polycystic ovaries, and inverted ovaries because I made this thread I just thought I’d get abit more support. Everyone had been lovely. Honestly if people don’t have something nice to say, why post at all?!

Kinda like if one person puts a negative comment another follows like a sheep. Anyway! Back to equipment. Thanks to everyone kind and nice in this thread I’ve made a really good list. So I really appreciate all the time you all took. Smile
