Misoprostol suppository for missed miscarriage - they fell out!

Has anyone been given misoprostol suppositories for a miscarriage before? I was told to insert 4 this morning with an applicator they gave me and insert them as high as I could which I did. About 3-4 hours later I started having cramping and bleeding, but not severe. When I went to the loo a few minutes ago (10 hours after putting them in) they fell out covered in blood! One was lost down the toilet but the other 3 I've saved. Should I clean them off and reinsert them?

I haven't had this so can't be 100% sure but I don't think you should re-insert them. I think it would be a good idea to ring 111 for advice?

I am sorry about your miscarriage Flowers

You should have been given a number to call.

I would imagine after 10 hours they'd done what they needed to, but check with the ward.

Thanks both i do have the wards number so I just rang them and they said it's fine as itd just the 'shell' of the suppository and all the medication should have been absorbed so that's a relief
