Totally normal.

At 4-9 weeks I felt really bloated. 9-13 weeks I was back to looking normal again... Tiny bump came along at about 13/14 weeks, but only noticeable to me.

I had the same worry that I'd look huge later on, but I'm almost 18 weeks now and have just a hint of a bump (you have to know me to 'see' it) and measure 'as expected' for dates.

I wore a nice dress today and the bump was huge in it even DH pointed it out and kept rubbing it the rest of me is fairly slim so it makes it look even worse.

Yes it’s very normal and very uncomfortable. It will pass and either disappear or even out. If you are self conscious about it then you can choose clothes to minimise it. I quite liked it because I felt so wretched it was nice to have an outward indicator that I was expecting.
At 18weeks my bloat is gone and my stomach is only marginally bigger, but now it’s mostly baby.
If you don’t want dh to rub it just tell him and gently point out that the baby is about the size of a grain of rice, deep in your uterus... so he’s just rubbing your bloat and making you feel uncomfortable.

Feel your pain. I'm so bloated and just five weeks also and my boobs. Spending all my time in sports bras!

My boobs are so tender and they've definitely gone up a cup size already Confused i honestly thought none of this stuff happened till further on in the pregnancy

It is fascinating. The body is already working away like crazy preparing to give birth. Have full permission to not find it fascinating until you get through the first trimester, though. I think it is by far the worst!

Yup! Was so bloated in the first 10 wks. By about 13 weeks I’d deflated and just looked like I’d had a big meal. Proper bump came in by about 18 wks and the bloating hasn’t come back!

Foggymist · 20/04/2018 09:11

It's not related to its size, it's the hormone changes slowing your digestion and causing the bloating.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/04/2018 09:16

Totally normal. I was massively bloated from about week 6, but by week 13 looked back to normal until actual bump started appearing a few weeks later. I didn't want anyone to guess I was pregnant so hid it, as far as I know successfully! It is also worth thinking about diet - obviously will depend on what you can stomach if you're also feeling sick, but as pp said it's digestive not uterus at this stage, so what you eat can make a big difference. I certainly found that the heavier I went on the carbs the worse it got - which was annoying because that was all I wanted to eat in those first few weeks!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/04/2018 09:18

Oh and don't worry, it's completely unrelated to how big you'll get later - they're totally separate processes! So bloating early doesn't mean you will (or won't) show particularly early, etc.

Ugh tell me about it! 5 weeks and feel massive!

Just googling foods that help reduce bloating lol I don't think I'd mind if it was a bump I could proudly show off, but I just look fat!

Happysbno4 · 20/04/2018 16:43

Went out in my Jeans today. So uncomfortable I went to Primark to get leggings!

Mousefunky · 20/04/2018 17:37

Totally normal. I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and I’m finding it very, very difficult to hide. I know it’s purely bloat but I look huge! I have seen a few people looking trying to work out whether I am pregnant or fat Grin, it’s awkward! I’m not telling anyone until the first scan due to past miscarriages as well so it’s even more awkward.

Mousefunky · 20/04/2018 17:38

I also can’t wear anything that doesn’t have an elasticated waist anymore because it hurts!
