I want a red bump band!

Why have I got a feeling MN hates bump bands??

I want a bright red bump band, to show off my bump when it becomes more obvious. Also hoping it will make me look more pregnant and less fat (started off as a size 18). Does anyone know anywhere that does colourful bump bands? I've only seen grey/ white/ black ones so far.

Quick eBay search and I found loads!

I bought 3 bump bands when I got pregnant...I wore one once. Complete waste of money for me!

Could you throw a white one into the washing machine with one of those fabric dyes? That should do the trick.

I bought a pack of bump bands and didn't find them that great tbh. They fall down and don't really do much but maybe you'll have better luck!

Alternatively, you could get a red maternity vest and wear it under your other clothing - same effect as a bump band but won’t fall down!

I have never ever heard of bump bands so just had to google - I think they look pretty genius to be honest and would work much better than my bobble trick I used!

Could you not look for a boob tube in red, possibly primark/newlook/ matalano as they seem to be the same sort of thing?

EastDulwichWife · 20/04/2018 10:12

I'm not sure anyone will see it though? They are designed to be worn under your shirt.

Foggymist · 20/04/2018 11:27

Just buy a red vest top.

TeachingPuffin · 20/04/2018 16:37

Thanks for your tips! I want one to wear over my top, to accentuate my bump which MN will hate no doubt

@teachingpuffin I’ve never seen them worn over a top?

I think white and a box of dye is your best bet though :)

I had an AMAZING bump band 7 years ago, thick stretchy cotton that had an almost Spanx like effect, holding maternity trousers up, smoothing out any bumps and lumps while giving my actual bump a lovely round shape.... it was from Next if I remember correctly. The bump bands these days all seem to be as effective as wearing a vest, I hardly bother with them. Should anyone have come across one like I used to have, let me know! Flowers

@thistles24 is it this one? www.next.co.uk/xo55044s5 has nylon and says it's lightly supportive?

@teachingpuffin well there you go!

Hope you manage to find something you like :)

I thought my numb bands were one of ge most helpful bits of wardrobe last time! I used them for ages afterwards while breastfeeding so I could lift my top without flashing my middle!
