Hi so I’m about 7 weeks and last night started spotting looked like brown/old blood today it has continued throughout the day and have slight cramps and feel tender. I was about to phone midwife for first appointment so do I wait and see? Would I definitely know if I’ve mc? When should I do another test? How long does spotting usually last?

I had a similar thing at 11 weeks. Rang the midwife and she asked if I'd had sex recently as that can cause it Blush

I had spotting at 6, 8 and most recently at 10 weeks. Midwife got an appointment with EPU as I’ve miscarried before. All was well. They weren’t concerned that it was happening. Light brown spotting is old and then said unless it gets heavy or turns red not to panic. Not could they see a explanation for it on the scan. I would call the midwife for peace of mind, if you get an early scan it will put you at ease. There is nothing worse than pondering over it. I also felt tender but guess it was things growing/moving along. Hope all works out OP.

I've read a lot of posts from women who had quite heavy bleeding throughout pregnancy, but everything turned out absolutely fine.
It must be horribly worrying for you though.
I think at 7 weeks you will definitely know if you miscarry.
Why don't you call and make midwife appointment and ask if they have any advice to offer regarding the spotting?

Thank you ladies I will give them a call in the morning, it’s not like usual period cramps but doesn’t hurt too much so I’m really not sure
