So my due date is a week tomorrow, and the last couple of days I've had a quite a few people mention:

  1. My swollen nose, which means I'm going to 'give birth very soon'
  1. My swollen lips Grin which also means I'm going to 'give birth very soon'
  1. My 'mask' - what on earth is this?! A pregnancy mask?

Anyone else had any weird comments?

It was always "a puffy face" for me that I didn't even notice I had 😊

Oh yes I had a very puffy face last week but that seems to have eased off now.. Apart from my nose and lips apparently ConfusedGrin

mask is discolouration of the skin, rather like a sun tan that is patchy. I had it.

That's helpful, thanks @welshmist Smile

Out of sheer curiosity how long after getting your mask did you give birth? Grin

Mine appeared three months before birth, a sunny summer made it appear earlier and it was darker. Something to do with the melatonin that darkens your skin being overactive. As if I needed anything else overactive lol.

The ‘mask of pregnancy’ is melasma, which as PP have said is a pigmentation thing. If you’re getting it then you need to wear a high SPF, especially if you’re in the UK and experiencing the warm weather at the moment. It doesn’t always go away after pregnancy and sun exposure makes it worse.
