I am pretty sure that you can get a rubber one to put in during pregnancy which stops the holes closing over but stretches if needed.

I just took mine out, it hasn’t closed up.

Look for a PTFE bar - www.bodyjewelleryshop.com/online_store/clear-ptfe-flexible-barbell33.cfm

You need a flexible silicone/plastic bar to allow for stretching. There’s a good chance it might stretch out but it might not

Took mine out, it hasn't closed up, but it's now one big stretch mark, I'll let you know if it goes back :3

Third pregnancy, never taken mine out

Pixiedust2017 · 18/04/2018 01:16

I took mine out very early on. I don't think it has closed up (I had it for 15 years prior to pregnancy) but I can't find my old bar to test it with...

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and just put a maternity bar in because I don't want to lose mine had it done as my first body piercing I'd hate to lose it

cazinge · 18/04/2018 09:07

I'm 35+5 today & still got my metal one in, there is still some space but there is a stretch mark by it. Not uncomfortable at all yet but will take it out before birth as it will need to come out if I need a CS or anything.

I changed to a bioflex bar for a few weeks but where my belly was stretching it made it itchy and irritated. I took it out completely at 22 weeks.
I'm 25 weeks now and every few days I put the bioflex bar back in for a lil while just to keep the hole open.
I don't want to lose my piercing but it is more comfortable without it in.

I took mine out around 35 weeks as it stared getting sore, it looks odd now!

Thanks everyone will look at those flexible bars, I had mine done years ago before any pain killers etc and I love it and would like to keep it after how much it hurt!

@areyouokayhun did you just keep your regular bar in the whole time? and that worked out for you? I thought Id have to either take it out or Iook at one of these flexi bars but had no idea which to buy so thanks for the advice ladies and the link @blackbutler86
