Maternity work trousers

Does anyone have any recommendations for over the bump maternity work trousers? With my last pregnancy I lived in leggings but my current job is generally smarter wear so I'd rather have some that are more suit like. I like H&M maternity jeans but any recommendations welcome, please.

Depends how much you want to spend. I got a pair out of Asda for £8 and they are great!

mommybear1 · 16/04/2018 18:40

I went cheap and cheerful with a wide leg over the bump pair from next - bliss!

felinechatty · 16/04/2018 18:48

I got a nice pair from GAP, but they weren't that cheap!

Ooh I am following this thread with intetest. Bought everything else I need from ebay but the only clothes I am really lacking are some nice office skinny leg style maternity trousers!

PerfectlyPosed · 16/04/2018 18:54

If I can find a couple of pairs that will see me through until the end, I'm happy to spend a bit on them. My usual work trousers are mostly Next I just wasn't sure how good their maternity range was.

Thanks for the recommendations so far.

@surreygirl1987 that could be my user name 😉

I’ve bought the black skinny maternity jeans for work from ASOS they do under and over the bump they are £25 each and very comfy

pregle · 16/04/2018 20:05

I got a very comfy pair in Jojo maman...thInk they were £35 but they are so comfy, I'm living in them!

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 16/04/2018 20:08

I've or the wide leg h&m ones, which are so comfy. They look ankle length on the model but I'm 5'3" and they are long (just skiming the floor) on me.

surreygirl1987 · 16/04/2018 20:17

Does anyone else find it really annoying how in loads of shops the maternity range is only online? I want to try trousers on!

HellaBella0 · 16/04/2018 20:21

I work in quite a smart office too and have just bought some great work stuff (including trousers) from Seraphine. Sooo comfy, I'm never wearing normal trousers again! 😉

I got these

PerfectlyPosed · 16/04/2018 20:38

@RockinRobinTweets I looked at those. Are they quite baggy or slim fitting?

@surreygirl1987 yes, it's so annoying. Very few shops round here have a maternity section so you have to order online and hope for the best.

Following with interest. I wear a suit everyday and at 10+4 am no longer fitting into my trust stretchy Boden trousers!

Also annoyed everything seems to be online. I live near a huge shopping centre so have access to most high street brands - anyone know which shops tend to have a maternity section in store?

surreygirl1987 · 16/04/2018 21:20

The only reasonable sized shop I've found so far us Mothercare but they had no smart office trousers - only jeans and leggings :(

surreygirl1987 · 16/04/2018 21:22

I went into Next and Matalan and Tesco and asked about maternity clothing in massive stores and they all said online only 😡

AiredaleFan · 16/04/2018 21:22

My smart maternity trousers are from Next, but I also swear by a couple of bump bands, they provide a little bit of extra support, plus they help hold your trousers up and will extend the life of any baggier non-maternity tops.

RockinRobinTweets · 16/04/2018 21:45

They’re fairly slim fit, I’d say a straight trouser. They’re quite generous. I’m a 12-14 pre pregnancy and the 12 has been fine

Colonelpopcorn · 16/04/2018 21:47

Asda-£8. They’ve been amazing.

surreygirl1987 · 16/04/2018 22:59

Can I ask are the Asda ones available in store or online only? I'm 5 foot 11 so trousers I buy online rarely fit unless specifically long :(

PerfectlyPosed · 17/04/2018 09:22

The Next ones are out of stock but I've ordered a pair of the Asda ones to try.

I like my stretchy cropped Gap overbump ones, though I have had to redye them as they were getting a bit grey due to the amount of washing as I only bought one pair.

Wait4nothing · 17/04/2018 09:32

Some H&M stores have their maternity range - check before you make any special trips because not all do (even larger ones you would expect to!)
Apart from that I’ve only seen maternity clothes in mothercare.

Sashkin · 17/04/2018 15:00

I had the Gap ones too. Gap have special offers on pretty much constantly, keep checking the website till there’s a discount.

Sashkin · 17/04/2018 15:04

The best H&M maternity and baby stock is in their Regent Street store (not Oxford Circus, the smaller one hallway down Regent Street). Even that is still only about half of the online stuff.

I just ordered loads and sent it all back.
