So I am barely 5w pregnant and have been feeling sick for the last 2-3 days, is this normal? This is my 2nd pregnancy but I'm sure I wasnt feeling sick this soon the first time and everything I read says ti doesn't start until 6-8 weeks (I think I was 7w before it hit last time)! Confused

Has anyone else felt sick so soon and was everything OK?

Also, no other symptoms, which is bizarre??

As you can tell I am a worrier!

I started with nausea and vomiting around 3 weeks... Sign of a healthy pregnancy apparantly?! :-) I'm now 24 weeks and all looks good on tests/scans etc.

Congratulations btw!!

I had nausea and vomiting within days of conception and all the way through the first trimester with both my pregnancies.

Stephisaur · 16/04/2018 15:20

Can't tell you if it's normal, but I feel you!

Mine started last Thursday (so either 4w or 4+2, not certain just yet) and has been pretty continuous since then. Doing my head in to be honest!

Seeing my GP for something unrelated tonight, so will get her take on it for you :)

X

Thank you guys! Glad to hear that there are other early sufferers, I guess it means my body has plenty of hormones zipping around!

Stephisaur let me know what the GP says!

Yea exactly the same but only in second not in first. Exactly like you! Weird :)

Stephisaur · 16/04/2018 18:54

Fifi she didn’t seem concerned 😂

SofiaAmes · 17/04/2018 02:17

Yes, I should have added, that I had two physically healthy babies. (DS has a genetic disease, but it's unrelated to my vomiting while pregnant with him.)

allchangenochange · 17/04/2018 03:21

I felt sick from about the same time, all was well.

PeachesandPie · 17/04/2018 03:27

I felt sick at least a week before I could even get a positive test, all was fine but sickness was awful the whole pregnancy.

123456kent · 17/04/2018 15:30

I felt sick from 3rd week of pregnancy, and 100% knew I was pregnant. Pregnancy test said negative at 4 weeks but I just rolled my eyes at it as I knew I was, I felt SO sick! My baby is 6 months old now. Healthy pregnancy (except nausea)

windchimesabotage · 17/04/2018 15:33

yes its normal... well fairly common. Most people dont realise how awful the first trimester can be in terms of sickness and tiredness... thankfully its also fairly common that it subsides into the second trimester and youll probably feel better then.

CaMePlaitPas · 17/04/2018 15:40

YUP! I've had two pregnancies and early on I felt so sick it was unreal. I had HG with the first (and had to quit my job because I couldn't get out of the house...) but thankfully! just nausea with my second. As a PP said, it is the sign of a healthy pregnancy - it won't last forever although I know it is tough. Congratulations by the way :)

Morning sickness hit like a bus at 5w+4 with my first, but the 2 days before that, I had been feeling god awful between 6 and 8 am. Stayed awful until about 16 weeks at least.

This time it started at around 7w, but is a bit more gentle. I wonder if it's a boy this time or whether it was the ob's advice to drink, drink, drink and drink some more.

Fififiesta · 19/04/2018 15:46

Thanks everyone for your reassurance. I felt a bit better yesterday but it's back again today. I think I felt sick from 7-17w last time (I remember cursing the books that say it gets better at 12w!) so hopefully I will feel better earlier this time.

kikibo interesting that you say about gender I have friends who have said the same thing, nausea/sickness with a girl and fine with a boy; does anyone else believe this??

Pinkvoid · 19/04/2018 15:48

No, it was the opposite for me. I had no sickness at all with my girls but felt terrible with my DS. Same for my DM, she felt awful with my brother but fine with me.

Magpie24 · 19/04/2018 15:52

Yes I had this around 5 weeks. Just felt queasy but wasn't actually sick. It ramped up from 6/7 weeks and is now subsiding at 11 weeks.
