Me and my partner have been TTC for almost a year now and 2 days ago I just had a feeling so off I go to wee on a stick and to my shock we got a faint line, I did another one in the morning and again 2 lines, I done one again this morning and another 2 likes appeared so after work I went to the walk in centre and there test came back negative? Obviously I feel distraught my partner just went to the shops to buy me another test and I’ve just had another 2 lines? Could the doctors test be wrong?

AFAIK Dr tests are 25 sensitivity. Which tests did you use?

NapQueen · 13/04/2018 20:39

Maybe whatever test the docs use isnt as sensitive as whatever brand you have?

Maybe just book an appt again for 2 weeks time?

You could ask for a blood test?

Maedoula · 13/04/2018 20:45

And are all the tests you've been using from the same brand. Sometimes blue dye tests give false faint positives..

Blood test, or go back in two weeks. My GP gave me a test to take home with me. He said to wait about a week and then use it as the ones my clinic uses aren't very sensitive. Af came though, so I'm saving it for next month.

This happened to a friend of mine, she had all the symptoms + positive tests. But the GP on 2 separate occasions gave her a negative result. The 3rd time she found out she was actually 10 weeks. So apparently it does happen, so book another app in a week or so maybe?

Wolfiefan · 13/04/2018 20:53

Could be early days of pregnancy and tests need morning wee to detect it?

Buxbaum · 13/04/2018 20:56

This happened to me. The doctor’s test missed my pregnancy, despite clear positives on Superdrug pink dye tests (including one with evening urine on the day my period was due). I ended up having a blood test which confirmed the pregnancy.

Is there a particular reason why you needed to see the doctor? It’s not usually necessary. Test again in a few days and if it is positive again then self-refer to the community midwife.

I used 3 first responses and a clear blue

I went to the doctors as I’m on medication and just wanted to be certain before coming off of it

@Flossyrae Confusing indeed...Do you have any pics of the tests? Are they very faint lines or as dark as control line?

Flossyrae · 14/04/2018 17:04

I’m having bloods done on Monday and every time I take the test they get darker. I do have pics but can’t attach them
