Clear blue pregnancy test - negative then positive :s

Hi lovely people!

Apologies if this is a really stupid question; I have no idea about pregnancy and/or pregnancy tests.

On Wednesday night, I realised that my period was late, so I took a “clear blue early detection” pregnancy test. It shows a – for negative and + for positive. The horizontal line popped up straight away and stayed for the 10 minutes, so I popped it in the bin and thought no more about it.

Last night (over 24 hours after I took the test), my DH pulled it out of the bathroom bin and it had a positive sign. The vertical line was fainter than the control line, but it was definitely there and definitely blue.

Could this be an evaporation line? Or could I be pregnant?

I’ll take another test tonight, but its driving me crazy at work (so I’m not actually concentrating on anything). So any guidance that people could give me would be great!

Thanks

For accuracy tests should not be counted after the guidelines.
Test again!!

Test again! They recommend early in the morning for greater concentration of the hormones rather than last thing at night. Good luck x

Those tests always show a faint line if you look at them hours after the time period.

Hopefully it's just too early and you'll get a BFP soon.

Good luck

Thanks ladies.

I couldn't wait so made up a reason to nip to the pharmacy for a test and nip home. Would have been better if the lady working on the till hadn't shouted out "oh, is it a happy test? Or are you dreading it". Hmm

Update??!

user98765432112 · 13/04/2018 13:34

I'm not pregnant.

We weren't ttc, so I suppose this is what we wanted (although I do feel a little twinge of disappointment :s ).

Thanks again everyone.

I tested on day 33 and got a negative and waited a full week before testing again (that was a struggle!) and got a BFP then. So unless you are definitely not pregnant because Auntie Flo has appeared then never say never. Or if not, this will spark a chat about TTC :)
