UTI symptoms but no UTI

Been having a frequency to urinate and sometimes only a little comes out, plus quite a lot of pressure down there. I have to sit on the loo, dribbling urine after I've finished. I'm 12+5 today, after had scan and dated me back a week.

Went to my GP this morning and I've been tested for a urine infection - she did a dip stick test and it came back negative.

She said it was probably the baby causing the symptoms and expanding uterus etc. Does this sound right? Obviously I trust my GP but I'm just a little surprised this early on.

I'm a bit the same. 14+5 and was convinced I was brewing up a UTI. Saw the GP yesterday and she poked me and said she thought so too, dip test came back fine. I have problems especially at night. I've been experimenting with different positions and nothing is really helping, they do suggest perhaps rocking backwards and forwards (slowly I think!). I also did my pelvic floor exercises lying in bed last night for the first time in ages and am wondering if that's helped today. Hope things ease for you soon, it's really annoying I know! x

I had something similar when I was around 28 weeks - convinced it was UTI as I'd constantly feel desperate for a wee (more than just the average pregnancy amount!), even if it was only a small dribble that came out I'd then need to go again 10 minutes later. I also had what felt like uncomfortable bladder pressure inside but my urine dip came out clear.

Then one morning baby must have moved position and the feelings disappeared, turns out it was the baby causing the bladder pressure all along. I'm now 39 weeks and started to get the feelings back again which I assume is because baby is getting lower.

The gp told me the dip stick they have can not test for all utis. I had a test at the hospital that showed up a uti that the gp has missed. I think it was caused by a different bacteria. It didn’t respond to antibiotics and I went back to the gp who referred me to the hospital who then gave me another test & another course of antibiotics and it cleared. That was at 14 weeks.
